Someone who throws 319 and 78% sure a int and a fumble, but those are great numbers. Also something I saw from Purdy who I haven’t seen was the most tight window throws in his career. And his release looked a lot faster too. Problem is if Mahomes had that game media would say it was phenomenal. If Purdy does it he can’t compete on any other team.

Crazy thing is… Mr all time great Kermit the frog Mahomes ain’t even on the top ten leader board for passing yards…. Not even number ten! 🤣 the refs allow so many penalties that have allowed Kermit the frog to gain most of his plays to win games. Purdy is better than Mahomes, I don’t care what anyone says. Purdy plays against the refs and the defensive line as well as the blitz… and like you said, accurate and consistent. One thing I liked about his presser is the fact that he acknowledges that the defense did great at Disguising their play. Which tells me that he will be looking for that type of stuff going forward, more carefully. Purdy is one smart dude, especially considering that Darnold stated he learned how to study from Purdy. I’m not worried about Purdy, I’m worried about two others. Trent and Aiyuk both held out for more or extra money…. What the Fug have they done so far. Trent had his worst game as a niner yesterday, always getting flagged it seems, and Aiyuk apparently can’t get open anymore, nor catch a TD pass. All that shit and all that money for lesser than they have done in the past. At least we don’t pay Dak 240 million over four years to blown out by an unknown team in the saints… at home! 😂 😅

@@jinnij.caiman a lot of people said Carr was no good anymore. Some have said he has never been good. But he put up numbers with the raiders at their worst, and then went to an entirely different culture (organization and location) weather, and people. It makes since for the average person to go to a new team and everybody has to learn a new program and play style. He’s got every he didn’t have, at the same time, with the raiders. His running-back is amongst the best, his line ain’t too shabby, his receivers are better… individually and as a whole. New system in year two, healthy starters equals what we seen. I’m not sold yet, they have a tough schedule ahead of them, but I think the saints are going to be competitive at the least and contenders at best. Carr was always a great QB, and still is.

Unfortunately with the way the NFL camera crews choose to broadcast the game, we can't see what's going on down the field. Lombardi said the receivers could not separate from the DB's. Another word, they weren't open. I was impressed with the 99 yard drive Brock orchestrated on their last TD.

Purdy wasn't perfect, but was easily one of the bright spots yesterday. The pick was as much Juice's fault as it was Brock's. The fumble was inexcusable, but was only one mistake. The overall offensive performance must be placed squarely on the shoulders of Kyle. That play calling along with the poor preparation going into the game is his responsibility. Kyle makes no adjustments to scheme to help get the separation the receivers needed. The fact that CMC's absence is being used as an excuse for the poor play is unacceptable. If KS is truly an "offensive genius" he should have no issues coming up with a game plan to win this game. Remember paying Deebo, Kittle, CMC and Trent buckets of money was his call, and what did the team get in return? THAT performance?! Kyle is the issue here. Also, we can't ignore that the defense was absolute garbage yesterday. Sorenson won't be around long with that kind of play calling and prep.

Even Mahomes who won didn’t even play that great against the Bengals and yet they were touting how terrific a game he played after the defensive pass interference penalty that won him the game. The reality is it was a rather lame game winning drive but media is trying to mass hypnotize people into thinking otherwise while pinning Purdy as a mediocre quarterback. The fact most every QB stank up the joint this week who is considered a top 10 quarterback gets nowhere near the scrutiny Purdy does.

The secondary was getting burned for several reasons: Other than Bosa, the pass rush wasn't getting much pressure. Justin Jefferson was being Justin Jefferson. Nailor ran spectacular routes and made some great catches. And there were several weird incidences of confusion among secondary players, like broken coverages. I don't know if the Vikings O-schemes were confusing them or what. Why were two safeties covering Jefferson a couple of times rather than a CB? There were several wide-open Viking receivers, including a TD in the end zone where no one was on the receiver. Frankly, the Vikings beat the brakes off the Niners on both offense and defense. The Minn lines on both sides of the ball dominated. Darnold had great protection. Purdy was under pressure much of the time. Trent Williams didn't show up. Aiyuk didin't show up. Due to holding out neither is in game shape yet. CMC obviously CAN'T show up. Kittle, Deebo, Juice and Jennings showed up and obviously Purdy and Mason. Mason and Purdy are basically keeping the Niners afloat right now. If Mason wasn't generating the power and cutback gains for big yardage, then Purdy wouldn't have the play-action passing opportunites he has had. Without that he'd be sacked even more than he has been. Dre Greenlaw is really being missed on defense. The Warner-Greenlaw LB team is devastatingly effective. Behind them, in the Viking game, Jair Brown was out of position a LOT. He's getting fooled to much and he's also gambling a lot. Charvarius Ward is the No. 1 corner and he's playing okay, but Jefferson just burns everyone. Bosa played well overall but did not do a good job setting the edge on Viking run plays. On their play-action plays, he got caught several times spinning into the inside and letting the Minn RB bounce outside for yards. Hargrave was like a statue this game. Fred Warner carried the defense on his back.

Dante Whitney was interviewed and asked about the game with the Vikings. Have to say that he blames poor coaching by Nick Sorensen and that Shanahan was out coached again, blaming them for the loss. Why not ask Dante to consult for the team?

I'm genuinely curious, how does that NGS data on receiver separation take time-to-throw into account? I think you mentioned that the receiver's separation is measured at the moment the QB throws the ball, but is there any sort of normalization for how long the receiver has to run before that snapshot? Obviously a receiver who has 3 or 4 seconds to run his route will inherently generate more separation than a receiver who has only 1-2 seconds. I'm really skeptical of how much probative value the receiver separation data has, since there are SO many factors that go into it (pass protection/QB time-to-throw, the different lengths of routes receivers are running, defensive focus/coverage, etc.), and I don't really see much correlation between those separation numbers and receiver ability or success. CMC's separation number, for example, has much more to do with his coming out of the backfield against LBs starting 5 yards deep than anything to do with his route-running. Also, in last night's game, Deebo was our most successful receiver despite having the lowest separation number (low separation makes YAC harder, too), and Jefferson had the lowest separation number of any Viking's receiver despite obviously being their best.

Good thing he had that "masterful" 1st half like you said on X with 7 points to get the W. 😅

Dave... Purdy was horrible. He doesn't have " balls", he just makes bad decisions throwing to covered receivers, often double coverage with the only result being a dropped or intercepted ball

I’m a niner fan, but stop it bro, stop saying Purdy is a top 10 QB. A top 10 QB doesn’t need those many weapons to win games, top 10 QBs would have won the game yesterday. Yeah he’s ok, remember if the running game works any QB has a chance to make throws on most downs because the other team is focused on stopping the run so stop the bs
@hollyprice4351Ай бұрын
STOP IT!!! Quit moving the goal posts just for Brock. Even top 10 QBs lose games. The king, Patrick Mahomes lost to Jared Goff in Week 1 last year. Josh Allen has lost plenty of games his team should have won. I recall in Week 1 last year Josh Allen threw 5 Interceptions!!!! Same with Joe Burrow, who lost to the lowly Patriots in Week 1.
@jackied962Ай бұрын
Alright who are the top 10 QBs? Lamar, Goff, Dak all played worse and lost at home, Stafford doesn't have his weapons he gets blown out. Burrow lost at home to New England a week ago. So you have Josh Allen, Maholmes and no one else is in the top 10.

Quit the excuses for Purdy. I don't agree with you. I saw the high yardage by Purdy but the points do not fit the high yardage. Purdy had a problem last year, and maybe again this year .Purdy has a problem playing from BEHIND with good defenses. Another thing, Purdy cannot get rid of ball quick against the blitz due to his poor protection, causing him to be sacked several times. Last year, Big Trent did not play against the Vikings , so Purdy's protection was low or limited. This year Big Trent is playing but he is rusty. It is Purdy's fault, he throws in crowded traffic causing interceptions. He is not as calm as we think he is making bad throws that are intercepted or nearly intercepted.

You don't even make sense, you acknowledge the O-line problem, you acknowledge Purdy having to throw in traffic because WRs not getting separation but then you still say it's Purdy's fault? Big Trent gave up pressures and sacks yesterday, it's clear he's rusty or just past it. The players on defence and offence all need to step up, Warner was only player who could walk off that field with his head held high.

Purdy was the best player on the Vikings... 6 sacks.. 2 turnovers.. the proof is in the pudding.. but we all know.. niners can lose out the rest of the season.. and Lombardi will still see the second coming of Christ..😂😂😂

This analysis tells me that the 49ers quality offense is not playing with quality. They are playing below the average. o f_bbp
