I know this is 2 years old, but even back then I think most videographers that were more recent into the field have never touched a monopod in their lives... or handheld... or barely tripod. It's all gimbal, all the time. Sad really. I'm happy to see good products still coming out for the few of us that use other support besides gimbals.

They work good for filming wildlife. You can get up to 14-15 ft high to film inside a bird nest or you can stay hidden in underbrush and raise it up over it without freaking out the animal. Tons of options with one. I just have cheap one and pretty cool with a ball head attached. I made me a little pouch and put on a camera strap that I just put around my neck and stick one in it for stability.

I love using my A180 when i take 360 videos and pictures with my GoPro Fusion. Just like you said, I was not paying attention to it, i turn my back for a few seconds to get something and a gust of wind knock over the monopod and there went the lens on the 360 camera with it. Oh well needed a reason to upgrade the 360 camera. One feature you forgot to show on the video, you can unscrew the red knob off the base and attach it to the rod if you want to have a standard monopod.

The shorter one is better for travelers. Easier to pack and move around with. I got the longer one and it’s longer than I need for most cases. That’s not a bad thing but I think I would’ve preferred the shorter one had it been on sale too. But since the longer carbon fiber one was cheaper than the shorter carbon fiber one at the time, I just went cheap.

for all of you that bought this, or David, could you use this for long exposure photography? I don't mean star photography or anything, but a half second or a few seconds exposure of a waterfall. @RetroCarGuy5304 жыл бұрын
To get the super high placement of the camera, I actually use two monopods (not the cheapest method, but it works great). I have a Corbra 2 A180-II and Cobra 2 C180-II along with the Komodo K5. I will put the C180-II monopod on the top of the A180-II monopod and I can get that really high up shot with ease. It allows the bottom monopod to still be on the ground. That configuration gets some interesting high up shots at the car shows I've attended in the past. I usually attach a clamp to the lower monopod so I can attach my phone to see what the camera is seeing with its remote control app on the phone. The quality of the iFootage equipment has been outstanding!

I see holding the handle where you can move the camera downward ( ground )and backward ( sky ) but what if you want to take a picture vertical instead of horizontal? Also seems to me there is a need of a seperate bracket underneath the camera.
@hankfink54123 жыл бұрын
Hey, if you're taking pictures vertical on this monopod you can just switch out the video fluid head for a ball head that tilts 90 degrees to give you the vertical shot. Or get a cage for your camera that has a mounting screw on the side

Nope, they can call it what they want. But that is a tripod. 3 separate feet. Yes, they are much much closer together than the norm but it is still a tripod. Therefore I do not think utilizing this item as an example of the benefits of monopods is the best of ideas. Having said that, I was thinking that perhaps a next step in the tripod progression would be to enable it to get as narrow of a base as this so-called monopod of yours. Best of Both Worlds.
@DavidManningvlog4 жыл бұрын
Haha! Well, the bottom feet are removable so you can go truly monopod mode. But when you loosen the bottom ball joint, it moves around like a monopod, but then when you lock that ball joint it stands like a tripod. That's the best of both worlds👍
