In the US, the woman CANNOT withdraw the case even if she wants too. The prosecutor moves forward with the charges. Nigeria needs to adopt the same principle.

The abusive husband is making her do those videos to convince the public that they are now fine and she is foolishly playing along. There was a similar case like this, were the woman returned to her evil husband, dropping all charges against him and they made a video online peppering the public, but it ended in horror. Few weeks after the lady returned, she was killed and buried inside a pit toilet behind their home by her abusive husband. We women never learn.

Unfortunately, this is the unhealthy pattern of DV. Sometimes women will go back several times to their abusive husband because of the psychological and sometimes economical damage caused due to the DV. I understand people are so upset of her action but unfortunately, her actions are the classic signs of a severely abused partners (especially woman).

People were ready to help her get on her feat and gain economic independence, but she ditched the opportunity as she can't live without a man and probably believes no other man will want her with five children. Her entire world revolves around her abusive husband, it's very difficult to help such women without involving psychiatrist.

In Most cases some women remain in abusive marriages when they don’t have a reliable supportive family members who are ready to accept them back home and help them to heal or find new peace, especially when the parents are either too poor, dead or old. Moreover, when a woman has no real source of income and therefore not self sufficient financially, she have no other option other than to remain in an abusive marriage to her own detriment

Stockholm syndrome at it's best! D.V victims need counselling. I can't blame her. My mom was D.V victim as well, with 5 kids. It took the man brandishing a gun in her face before her mind opened. My mom left and never looked back. It takes strong will to leave. Some die there, some are maimed, some get the courage to pack and go. It's a sad reality! It takes personal will! No lawyer, or family member or court can force a victim to leave. It's their choice to make.

Typical DV situation. Sometimes the abuse is not even physical, mental and emotional abuse are just as bad too if not worse. If the victim is not empowered to be emotionally and mentally confident and strong on their own, outsiders are just wasting their well-intentioned efforts 🤷🏾‍♀️.

The victims suffer from Stockholm syndrome. It's a situation where the victims believe, they can't live without the abuser, it's a psychological issues, the victim has gotten so used to being abused that she sees it as normal. A niece of mine is going through it, even when we pulled her out from Onitsha to Lagos, after about 2 months she went back.

A woman, who has been hit by her husband once, twice, thrice , or more and she continues to live with the man under the same roof, needs to get her head properly examined. But a woman who's been hit by her husband, for an upward of a decade or more and she chooses to remain in the marriage, for whatever reason, needs deliverance, both spiritually and physically.

It's pointless helping someone being abused as they always go back. It's only the victim herself that can help herself. It takes own strength and determination to leave an abusive relationship. Even if they're working and earning they're own money they would still not leave even an educated woman will still not leave. An abuser is someone that is very good at manipulation and can apologize like hell😂😂 and promise you everything.

I was distracted by your lovely wig (lemme just look for flights cos Canada here I come, lol). On a more serious note, that lady with the DV is actually traumatized from the DV and is not mentally healthy to make an objective decision. She loves her oppressor because of the fear he has imposed in their relationship. Worse still is the fact that the social media buzz has somewhat contributed to her confusion cos she’s never had such viral attention before. It’s a lot to handle at once to be honest. Qualified DV specialists need to keep tabs on her cos best believe she will definitely need help in the nearest future. No human being deserves to be treated like an animal. As for Isreal DMW, no comment. Neze send the wig abeg 😂😂😂😂😂. I am literally your neighbor who lives in your neighboring country.

The one who cries wolf so many times will one day be eaten by the wolf. Unfortunately this blocks others who are genuinely in need of help from getting that help. Semi-illiteracy is truly a disease in Nigeria and social media does not help. Again, unfortunately, many of those who are not financially stable now see social media as an opportunity to beg in style.

Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons, this is all too common among DV victims. And some of the reasons people stay with their abusive spouse can be as serious as receiving death threats from or attempts on their lives by the abusive spouse when they attempted or revealed their intention to leave the marriage. Some of these victims cannot simply up and leave; they require a system that will provide them and their children with significant protection from the perpetrator, as well as financial and psychosocial support. In Africa, a woman who leaves her husband may face harsh societal condemnation, and some may fear having their children removed from them and access to them barred (with impunity) if they do so. Many mothers will not want to imagine themselves in that situation.

My learned girl @ Nezeville, kudos to you once again, I think 🤔 the long term effects of the abuse will take time to heal, she’s still under the husband’s spell, give her time she’ll recover, pple like us recovered and raised 4 intelligent women with grandchildren, she needs some love 💕 now as she’s very confused and lonely, she will bounce back dat is if she applies knowledge, first she needs to separate from the abusive husband with the support of loved ones and family, dats when and where her healing starts 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
