Your actually both wrong When you talk about Afrobeat. Your talking Fela. Then Afrobeat evolved the S was added. Neither Davido nor Whiz Kid made Afrobeats mainstream. Oliver twist by Dbanj was the first Afrobeats sound to go mainstream as in the charts and playing on the radio it kind of took off from there even though there were a phlethra of other artists that were doing there thing.

I actually liked him in this interview than in others he has done. It looked like he made a conscious decision to reoresent and he was showing that we di not live in trees and there is wealth in Nigeria. I dont even think Kelly fully comprehend the fact his father owns a university and his mother is a college professor. This is no rags to riches story like a lot of American artists come ftom. And there is nothing wrong with thst at all. Just pointing that out. He was himself and i liked this vibe he gave. And he was not wearing Sunshades you see how diffrent the interview went looking into somepnes eyes speaks a thousand words.

Started recording music in 2014 back in high school but lack of opportunities kept me not exposed, but despite all odds I worked so hard and managed to get an interview on National Television back in my country and did also jingles for different NGOs but still lack of sponsorship and promoters that's how tough the music industry is in Africa... but I believe one day I will make it. Let's not fight over this comment. Other African nations like Ghana and SouthAfrica contribute to the global Afrobeats playlist as well, so let us be very clear not to play games of thrones. Every artist that has gone viral needed other African nations to listen and support. If not, Nigeria's 200M population is not enough to thrust Nigerians into the limelight. We all need each other.
