Love these comparisons! I need to get a hold of some of the Davidoff to compare it with my beloved Highgate.

Just bought 2 tins of Orlik Golden Sliced red and 2 tins of Orlik Vintage which is in the brown tin. Looking forward to it as never tried Orlik before as seems fairly hard to get hold of in the UK and heard great things.

HI Simon. I'm a new subscriber. Could you please tell me where you purchased your pipe lighter? I have arthritis issues and can't handle a zippo very well. But I think your lighter would make things much easier for me. Thanks in advance. - Murphy

Interesting comparison Simon, I opened a tin of St Bernard Flake and the taste was much like Orlik not as bright but very similar Cheers.

This is the kind of reviews we new pipe smokers need, but all the 'this-that' references are confusing, try naming them, please

Hi, thanks for your message. I think I was clear at the outset which pipe had which tobacco in it and mentioned the names fairly often throughout the video but I understand it can be difficult for new pipe smokers. How is your journey going with pipe smoking? Which tobaccos do you like the most? Cheers

@@londoncallingwithsimon6817 thank you for the response! from captain black gold to nightcap, and from erinmore flakes to a greek virginia smelling like lemongrass, I mostly like to mix tobaccos for surprise tastes, usually pleasant. what really helped me was the Frank method of packing, it seems that I can avoid tongue bite even though I like to make heavy smoke clouds. I found Davidoff medallions here and it will be my next buy

There seems to be two sources for a lot of the pipe tobacco that reviewed in the UK: one is an American seller and the other a German on line shop that is mentioned quite often. I’m not sure though what is involved with making an online purchase. Obviously there is an exchange rate and delivery cost to contend with but I haven’t seen anything about possible duty and VAT costs that might be charged. Can anyone clarify what extra costs you would face in making these purchases as it would be nice to try some of these tobaccos.

You can get the Orlik from Denmark. It's going to cost plus packing and duty so basically forget about it. Not for us.

I seem to be the only person who dislikes Orlik GS. In fact I hate it. It's almost unsmokeable for me. Really bitter, tongue bite, the room note smells too much like cigarettes. Not good. Whether this is an issue with my pipe I don't know but I've smoked Orlik Vintage Flake a few times and that's much better.
