Welcome to my machine shop channel, I try to run it as it would have been run in the 1920's during an era of great industrial development in the US. It was a time of big iron castings, carbon steel tooling, Babbitt bearings, leather belts, practical thinking and learned skills. I use steam for power, junk wood (mostly) and rain water for fuel. Building the shop set up is still ongoing as I am adding machines and setting more to run from the line shaft. Your comments, questions, stories and discussion is always welcome here. Hope you enjoy this one.....Dave

That is a good looking engine! Looks really powerful. Nice project excited to see it come back to life. Thank you for sharing with us. When I was watching my buddies wife came in the room right about the time you were unloading it off the trailer and goes "do all you guys risk life and limb for toys when you go to unload them?" I unexplained there is always a plan, just not always evident at the time.

That is a great find. About as close as you can get to "plug in and run" as you could probably get for old steam. You've got it right about Chicago and the tollways. Pay a lot of money to go through faster (not fast, just faster). The amount of money that generates in a day's time ... where is it all going??? Can''t avoid it, sometimes. It's either pay through the nose or bleed through it. Keep moving or perhaps find yourself sitting in a shooting gallery. I'm almost to the point of where I won't go in there anymore.
