Very good explanations. For the pros, they know when it was a good or bad repetition because they know what a good repetition "feels like" after doing it so many times. They can also recognize why a rep was a bad rep and know what it takes to correct it. For players who aren't on that level, make the feedback easier by using cones or other markers for targets and control radii. If you're lucky enough to have a 3rd person, throw in a passive defender. This will be the best way to learn where you should control the ball for maximum effectiveness. Finally, focus on the ball and your targets of where you want the ball to go rather than on your foot or leg. If you focus on controlling the ball, your body will organize to put the ball where you aim. If you focus on your foot, your body will organize to move your foot independent of the ball and your target.

These drills are so important for anyone who wants to score more goals. Another quick point: the striker should look up quickly immediately after the touch prior to the shot as the ball is rolling away to see where the GK is and where they will aim, then look back down at the ball to strike it and not look back up again until the ball is in the net. This is because your body will only take aim using the visual information you give it. You need to look at the spot so your body knows what to do as how you shoot for that spot subconsciously. Also, you need to see where the gk is to decide on your shot. Finally, you need to look at the ball when you strike it so that you can have your foot contact the appropriate surface of the ball. Your concentration has go be 100% on the ball at that point. The next step is to work on "automatic" shots that you can release without looking. Many top strikers are able to do this by seeing where they are on the field and knowing where they will aim from that position no matter what. This takes all conscious and subconscious thought out of the decision, allowing the shot to be take fractions of a second quicker. Every good striker should have 2-3 automatic shots in their toolkit.

Great explanations David! Love that you explained the half turn and pulling back the foot with the flow of the ball. A subtle difference between that and just stopping it but makes a huge difference.
