“The best thing to do as a first-time founder is to build the product [before approaching VC to raise money].” - simple, but extremely important advice especially for low capex startups. Nowadays there are tons of tools (prototyping, cloud credits, etc) to cost efficiently build a minimum viable product and test it with real users

He commented that Warren Buffets “put all your eggs in one basket and watch that basket” as the best piece of investing advice. Two questions . Doesn’t WB preach about diversifying ? 2nd question- how could he then turn around and say to put 100,000 dollars in SP 500. That’s total diversification !!!

David is a very smart guy but look at how he tries to tease out the nuances of VC from Marc, especially the fundraising rounds and incredible rates of returns, that puts PE (David’s turf) to great shame and envy. Something doesn’t add up and David knows it.
