As you may know, I’ve lived in Miami, Florida, for almost my entire life. But what you may not know is that Miami is now the most expensive city in the United States to live. Finding cheap things to eat there isn’t easy, but I’m always up for a challenge. Join me and my friend Alexandra as we try to eat in South Miami for an entire day-with just $50!

AMSTERDAM FALAFEL SHOP: At this shop, we got a falafel bowl with cauliflower, fried eggplant, hummus, cucumber, and baba ghanoush. We also got some tahini, peanut sauce, and pita on the side. It was so flavorful, fresh, and healthy. The silkiness of the tahini and the softness of the hummus were excellent with the crunchy falafel.
CASA CUBA: Here, we ordered a cortadito (espresso with milk and sugar), a ham empanada, and a beef empanada. My flaky beef empanada was buttery and flaky on the outside and warm, moist, and flavorful on the inside. My David’s Been Here sauce added a delicious tropical kick!
DELIGHTS OF BEIRUT: At this Lebanese joint, we ordered the beef shawarma platter, which came with cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, parsley, hummus, pita chips, and tarator (garlic sauce). The beef was fresh and flavorful, and I loved the pastiness and the tanginess of the hummus. It was healthy but had so much flavor!

Hi David: I am glad to see you do these meals on a budget videos. Everything that you ordered looked so delicious. The restaurant where you bought the felafel bowl actually had a dish on the menu called 'crush your balls'. Thought you would have gone for that one😋😂😂😂. Miami most expensive city in America?

Miami surpassed NYC as the most expensive housing market in the USA as of 2021 and continuing. According to US News which is well regarded for these kinds of lists, and their metrics, Miami was #1 in 2021 and then now down to number 2 as of 2023 as the most Expensive Place to Live below Los Angeles. Miami is more unaffordable than NYC or SF and there are a lot of reasons why. Definitely check out those reports for more info. Ultimately I'm not an expert but I just read a bunch of articles which state this to be the case and so I felt it was appropriate for the title.
