im a local from UAE just beside KSA in the border ... the matter of eating with a spoon, FOR ME! just a desire or taste !! I don't see it as a necessity to eat with your hands if you visit a Gulf country. I don't find that necessary at all. as for me, I usually prefer eating food with a spoon and on individual plates is for privacy. I dont wanna feel embarrassed cause a mess with the shared plate , to be honest !! I don't like to eat from others hand .. AND i dont want them to eat from my hand .. I have that respect in eating . I love staying Free just leave people eat as they feel comfortable ... that is eating why u put rules ?! I hope that didnt hurt anyone and im sorry its just my opinion !
