Enjoyed the video. Brought back great memories of the restoration of our Colt. We did not use HVLP though, but a traditional Binks spray gun and Randolff Dope over Ceconite. Hey, from 8,000 feet and 100mph people will never see that orange peel. Fly safe and enjoy the TriPacer. Great planes.

Nice job fixing it. Sorry this happened to you. After 29 years in general aviation, I’ve never understood why people only open doors almost enough. I’ve seen it happen on Gulfstreams to Cubs and every time it would’ve cleared easily with just a few more seconds of opening the door.

David I'm sorry that happened but in my opinion it says a whole lot about your character to not only own up to your mistake but to turn it into a positive learning experience. I kinda wondered what happened to you , now I know. I'm glad to see you got it fixed. Wow I'm looking forward to the upcoming trips but only record when you feel like it. Please don't ruin your beautiful trips looking through a viewfinder on our account. By all means I'll be grateful to see any footage you happen to capture. Thanks for sharing these great videos brother.

Thanks Kevin! Yeah. It’s been a bummer but I am glad I was able to learn the fabric work. I’m afraid one day it will be a lost art. I’ve started to get in a rhythm recording finally so it isn’t too bad. You are right though. I am going to make sure I enjoy that trip. Can’t wait! Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.

@@davidschmaus1 Luckily I got to learn recovering from the wings on our old Ercoupe. That aircraft N2261H was deregisterd blown engine and is at Dayton Wright Brothers probably was sold for parts. I miss that plane but it is what it is.

The metal worker in me on the tape/glue, "Just wire brush and repaint." 😅 I of course have no idea if that was really a viable option there. 🤣 The can shaking shot. Such an element of realism.

Hello David, I am really enjoying your Tri-Pacer videos and the video work in your videos. I understand you are a professional videographer. I also am digging your location in the Dayton area. My first introduction to aviation was as a line boy at the Wright-Patterson Aero Club in the early 1970’s. We lived in Enon and my mother worked on Wright field.

The rudder of my 1956 Tripacer (N7117B) was damaged at the Little Rock Arkansas airport in 1972 when a crop duster pilot ran into it while it was parked. He flew up to a repair shop in Manila Arkansas and had it “repaired” but the airplane required constant rudder pressure to fly straight. I finally replaced the rudder.

So I have a small KZbin channel myself and am also looking for a pa20/22. I ran across your channel and immediately went down the rabbit hole of watching your videos. First you’ve convinced me that a pa20/22 is the way to go. Second your videos are extremely well done and I don’t know how you don’t have thousands of subscribers yet. I love your channel! Keep it up.

Hi David I have a 1960 Caribbean Tri-Pacer located at KE95 Benson, Az. If you are not a west mountain pilot may I suggest a couple of routes to CA. Not knowing your destination. Mid Ca follow I-80 to avoid high terrain. So. Ca head toward Roswell and El Paso then I-10 into Ca.
