My dad had TWO of these in the 1970s. Real simple basic transportation, no heater or radio and windshield wipers were two speed--on and off! The rings in the engines wore out and it wasn't worth the money to fix them. Real fun to drive when conditions were right. Don from West Virginia.

My first car was one of these back in the 80's. Loved it and would get another now if i could afford one.

I saw a red Anglia in Richmond, BC in 1979 or 1980 once. I even remember it was at the intersection of Garden City and Westminster Hwy. We had just moved from NZ, so it attracted my attention immediately. Other British vehicles we saw around the same time were, Austin America's, Minis, Morris Minors and Plymouth Arrows, which were British Chrysler Avengers.

I bought an Anglia from my brother in the early '70's. After I was sure it would run properly, I drove it from southern Alberta, Canada to school in southern Utah, USA, a distance of about 1000 miles. Gutless wonder, but fun to drive, no frills.

I remember seeing one driving around Richmond, BC in the seventies, so there must have been a few that made it to Canada.

I used to drive one in the late 60s. I had to throw gas into the carb every morning to start it, and I had to rock it to engage the flywheel to the starter. I never want to see one again.

I bet you anything you like you would not get a modern car starting like that in 20/30 odd years. The Anglia wasn't a bad car in it's day.

A few Ford Anglias have made their way to Canada - I saw a couple - but obviously special imports and not regulars.

Aw, even if it looks a bit crappy, I think a lot of people would restore the car if they just got a chance to do it.

Holy crap , Anglias came with a Reverse flow 996cc I4 That made something like 39 Hp
@tpvalley9 жыл бұрын
Ford Fan 2904 yes, with same bore as the 1500! so same size valves, very good for a high rpm race engine, formula junior used them with downdraft racing cylinder heads.

The Anglia owner? No, not Milo's father. That's Ludo, he's the landlord of the (now) former workshop of Mastermilo and many others.
