Your fb skills are improving a lot ! loved the trick montage. I recently took my tech deck performance series, rounded it out with sandpaper, put on some close up wheels I had laying around, new teflon bushings and tuning, and mob skate grip, kinda harder to use but I like the nostalgic tech deck feel. Thanks for the outro too that brought me back to when I got back into fingerboarding in 2020.

That’s the older version of the tech deck pro the new version has thinner grip tape and the wheels are smaller it’s the second generation tech deck pro you should review that one as well! And before you ask, it is not a performance tech deck it’s pro

Man, I used my tech deck pro for about 3 months, i reeeally liked it and its overhated i reckon. I HAD to change the wheels because the old ones slip off. Eventually replaced the deck with a PORK 'have yiu seen him' board, but 2 years later I'm still rocking the trucks. These things are absolutely brilliant to get into fingerboards.

Had the same problem with some tech decks, where the wheel nut is just spinning. On mine it was like the bolt spinning inside the truck, I was able to like squeeze the truck with a plyer on like the edge, where the bolt is like sitting inside the truck, so it stopped spinning. Made a nasty mark on the truck, but it worked. Like the bolt has like these squares on the end, and sometimes the truck like expands at that point, giving the bolt room to spin inside, so squeezing it, like closed that gap again. They are made of soft metal, so plastic deformation could be expected, yet since it's soft, they are ductile enough that you could like move it back a bit, without making it that much weaker, however it will definitely loose some strength every time you like move it back and forth. I would guess that you'd be better off just buying the performance series if you want to like build a serious deck, and just get some proper truckers, wheels and grip, as they reshaped nicely, however I can only compare to cheap ebay decks, so just a noob with a metallurgy kink typing here ;)

I got this same one and three of the wheels are jammed on there and freely spin without the nut but, will not come off... I intend to round off the deck and replace the tape as well. Definitely wouldn't be my first choice as main set-up It does make a sick display piece I at this point. I still love it... you would just think Teck Deck would have more of these issues solved having been in the game for as long as they have.

To remove the axle probably is slipped, you need a tool on each end to remove one of the nuts. Try to core the wheels (remove the outer plastic only).

I first got into fingerboarding in 1997, before Tech Deck existed. My first fingerboard was a plastic transparent keychain fingerboard shaped as one of those 80's hammerhead skateboards. I remember the excitement I felt when I found out that Tech Deck was invented. It was either in 1998 or 1999. I did it for about 10 years and eventually slowly stopped as I got into my 20's and started working. A bit over a year ago I decided to get back into it and ordered myself some basic Tech Decks. To me, those are the best. They look the most realistic as far as scale, they have real grip tape, they feel great, and they're just awesome. I don't get the hype with all these new styles of fingerboards where they look less realistic, are too wide, and have foam grip. I'm sticking with the basic Tech Decks. I'd say original, but the original ones used to be a bit smaller and less concaved from what I remember. And I've noticed that different Tech Decks wear out differently. The ones that are made in China, as the grip wears out there's a lot of white that comes out from under it, whereas the grip on the ones made in Vietnam wears out a lot more nicely.

they have 2 version one with dual durometer pencil eraser wheels which are known for peeling away and thicc ungrippy griptape and a newer version with regular plastic wheels and normal griptape and both are STILL unrounded and same mold and real wear-ish graphics

Actually this one is old version of tech deck pro series, you should try the one, which has regular street type bearing wheels (because the durometer wheels problem at the previous version), and also the foamtape is more slightly thin rather the old one.

Man those trucks definitely have issues, I saw you couldn’t get the nut off the axel. I have the same board and I was able to get the nut off, but the wheel was then stuck on the axel and I couldn’t get the wheels off. I needed a pliers to pull it off and when I got it off, no other bearing wheels I had would fit. Not to mention I completely destroyed the TD wheels getting them off.
