Commonsense is the most rare currency indeed. After all these trip WSR has made around the country, commonsense would require that he makes time to debrief, caucus, reflect and change strategy but alas he keeps makingbthe trips. The president must learn to listen. One skill I learnt while studying for a PhD qualification is to remaim curious and never take anything for granted. DR. WSR missed that important aspect of that process, which is why the application of knowldge, understanding and wisdom obtained at that level is eluding him. God bless the President of Kenya.

The mistake many Kenyans make including our leaders is to assume all norther counties are made up of Somalis. Somalis are about 20% in both Isiolo and Marsabit. They could be predominantly Muslim but they can't speak Kisomali. That's why Duale could not communicate with them. Most of the people in that crowd are vendors or hustlers who are either Boranas, Gabra, Meru,Turkana, Samburu, some Kikuyus, reindile etc. I come from a neighboring county and thats how I know. Imagine telling a Meru about Mandera when he has an international airport in that town and Nairobi is only four hours away by road. Garissa, Wajir and Mandera are the only counties where the Somali community is the majority just like the other communities living in Meru or western counties. Isiolo town is a truly cosmopolitan. Probably more than Nairobi. Isiolo and Marsabit are in eastern and not north eastern province.
