In this real time fire making video, I usually would have edited out the mistakes and sped up some of the slower scenes. I’m glad that I left it raw and real. It depicts real fire making. I used my worn out 3 1/8” x 5/16” Bayite Ferro Rod. I scraped it with my Stanley 10-049 pocket knife to ignite Dogwood scrapings, to ignite leaves, to ultimately ignite hand broken Water Oak branch pieces into intense flames. Thanks for showing the actual time. It helps to know how long the process really takes. I agree with your thoughts on editing to make a point, but once in a while a reminder that it's not instantaneous is good.

Yes, I'll be going back to the regular editing. It makes the video easier to watch and more enjoyable.

I really appreciate the ‘real time’ experience. I think something gets lost in the hurry up and move along process sometimes.

Hi David! Well, the old ferro rod lives to strike another day. Lord willing, I will be around for the next episode to see if it snaps.
