Fantastic interview! I’ve ordered the book & shared this video with my friends. When trying to explain Torah observance to Christians, I always refer to Acts 15 & 21; I’m so excited to see a whole book dedicated to this topic. Prayers for success in reaching the masses! 🕊️

Isn't it interesting that when we simply read the Bible on our own... the falsehoods of protestantism dissipate. For me it was asking God what else I was missing and then a friend suggested I study 7th day Sabbath. I did that w/o presupposition and it didn't take long to see I had a fundamental misunderstanding that it was "for the jews". And specifically my breakthrough was in listing all Sabbath verses in chronological order. Shalom

Exodus 31:14 “Therefore you are to keep the Sabbath, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it must be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. 15 For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a Sabbath of complete rest [Exodus 20:8-11; Leviticus 23:1-3], holy to the Lord; whoever does any work on the Sabbath day must be put to death.“ (NASB) Exodus 35:1 Then Moses assembled all the congregation of the sons of Israel, and said to them, “These are the things that the Lord has commanded you to do: 2 “For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day you shall have a holy day, a Sabbath of complete rest to the Lord [Exodus 20:8-11; Leviticus 23:1-3]; whoever does any work on it shall be put to death.“ (NASB) Numbers 15:32 Now while the sons of Israel were in the wilderness [Heb. midbar], they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day [Exodus 20:8-11; Leviticus 23:1-3]. 33 And those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation; 34 and they placed him in custody, because it had not been decided what should be done to him. 35 Then the Lord said to Moses, “The man must be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.” 36 So all the congregation [Heb. edah] brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death with stones, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. (NASB) Deuteronomy 4:1 “Now, Israel, listen to the statutes and the judgments which I am teaching you to perform, so that you will live and go in and take possession of the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, is giving you. 2 You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, >> nor take away from it, > not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter shall pass from the Law,

If the early church fathers were wrong about keeping the sabbath or keeping the dietary laws or other practices which really isnt a theological but more of what should have been traditionally passed down...then why should we trust them for something like the early gospel writer attestation ( for example Ignatius was a disciple of John)??

I found N. T. Wright's "Paul, a Biography" very useful in understanding Paul within the context of the Second Temple Jewish community.

Thank you for this discussion and publishing his book, David! I am wondering if you could do a video talking about 1Cor 9:19-23? This is actually how most people I speak to argue about Paul keeping the Nazirite vow. They say he is just doing it to win some of the Jews to Messiah. It seems pretty silly to me, especially since the same people argue that Paul is the biggest apologist of "doing away of the Law". If Paul's main thrust (as these people believe) is doing away with the Law, I do not think he would then obey the Law to win some to Messiah. That would just be very confusing. But I bet you would have a lot more to say on this and would love to hear it!

Yeah, it’s a popular passage to make that objection. I touch on it briefly in my video “The Law of Moses vs. the Law of Christ.” Dr. McKenzie also discusses it in his book.

Not only should Acts 21 be taken as proof of Paul following Torah (Law & the Prophets) but also Acts 28: 1-29. In Acts 28, Paul recounts it all for the Jews in Rome. Some believe some do not. In Acts 28: 25-27, he acknowledges the revelation to Esaias from the Holy Ghost is indeed correct; unto this people, hearing they will not understand & seeing they would not perceive! It is a testimony by Paul of the witness previously given to Esaias pertaining to the Jews. Ultimately, by extension also now through Paul's testimony, now applies to Christian Gentiles. The Jews did/do not have a monopoly on stiffneckedness!! Christians can be just as paralyzed.

These verses in Acts 21:20-26 seem to specifically mention Jewish believers not gentile believers. The whole discussion seems to be about what Paul is teaching the believing Jews, "who are among the gentiles." It is myriads of Jews who are zealous for the Torah (not gentiles). He then needs to show the Jews of Jerusalem the he (as a Jew) is obedient to the Torah. Could you please comment on this for me?

Only two people in the New Testament spoke about the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31;31-34. That would be Jesus and Paul. We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Sion and the blood of Jesus in Hebrews 12:22-24.

Mount Zion is referring to Isaiah 2 where the Law is universalised for all nations. It basically means the exact opposite of what you think it does.
