The drums on the third section of the creating the cars backing track reminded me of Kraftwerks "Tour de France", that could be a great tutorial 👍

Happy New Year to you as well, David! Numan is so perfect for the JD-Xi. I just remembered I was supposed to get back to you with my Oxygene track. Lobg story but I got *really* sick and a lot of stuff going on. It is up on my channel if you are interested. I got a bit carried away 😂 Alright David, thank you for all your videos and wish you the very best. Christian

Good stuff David. Has anyone ever mentioned how much your voice sounds like Gary? !!

Many thanks for your great comment. No, nobody has ever mentioned the similarity before, but I'll take it as a compliment. All the best, David 🎹🎶👍

This is a great tutorial. Thank you. Just one question. How to you program the JD to play all the saved parts in a sequence. That's the only thing that I'm misding. Any advice would be great.
@DavidGordonJDXi11 ай бұрын
Hi there and many thanks for your comment and question. When you press the Play button on the JD-Xi it will begin playing whatever sequence/program that is currently selected. If you select another sequence before the current one ends it will continue into playing the new one. Unfortunately that's the only way that I know to play saved parts to make a complete song. All the best and Happy New Year 🎹🎶👍

Hey, I’d love to chat with you if possible. I’m trying to pick out a synth… and I’ve been looking at Roland’s mostly…. And minilogues. I move been researching both are great. My goal is to play stuff like old DM, Fad Gadget, OMD, Tubeway army/old Numan stuff. This seems like the way to go. Seems like we have similar tastes. Would you recommend this over a jp-08 or ju-06A… the boutiques? This seems to have many more options and better noise for wanting to play early to mid 80s stuff? Think this would be a good way to start out? Yeah I’m a beginner but I know what I like… and can learn quick enough if something keeps my interest. You recommend looking into anything else besides this? I’ve checked out Behringers… I don’t think they’re for me. And to be honest the Roland boutiques seem to small and cramped compared to this? And Minilogue does seem cool but people keep saying I’m not gonna get the sounds I’m looking for… What do you think? What does anyone think?

Many thanks for getting in touch. First off, I'm not an expert on synths. I enjoy playing with the couple that I have, but I don't have any personal experience of other makes and models. What I can say, is that I've had the JD-Xi for almost five years and I am still enjoying using it. It is packed with such useful features some of which I'm still discovering! The build quality is not the best, it's very plasticy! The little keys feel very fragile and in my opinion not designed for the velocity control that they have. I turned it off on mine. The sequencer is brilliant! It's easy to program or just record into. I use a lot to create rhythm backing tracks for my guitar. My other keyboard is a fairly old Juno-D that I picked up for £200. It's a great keyboard with some excellent sounds. The full size keys work wonderfully with the velocity control. Neither keyboard are particularly easy to tweak the sound without diving into menus. Filtering is good but envelope shaping is awkward. The analogue synth on the JD-Xi only has one oscillator and I've never really explored it much apart from the preset voices. The two digital synths are more interesting and you can blend and modify up to three voices/oscillators. I've never used MIDI so can't help you there, but I do know that both keyboards have it. I watched a lot of KZbin reviews before buying any new equipment. I'm definitely not disappointed with the JD-Xi. If you have any more questions, I'd be happy to try and help. All the best, David 🎹🎸🎶👍

I am writing in polish, but translate this text by Google please. "David, czy mógłbyś podczas opisywania kolejnych kroków programowania zrobić zbliżenia wyświetlacza? Jak zapisujesz kolejne ścieżki? Dopiero poznaję ten model Roland. Pozdrawiam🤘🤘🤘"
@DavidGordonJDXi8 ай бұрын
Zatwierdzić przyciskiem ENTER i zapisać program do pamięci przyciskiem ENTER. Możesz zapisać program zapisu w wielu lokalizacjach pamięci i zmodyfikować go. W ten sposób tworzę utwory, które tworzę. Mam nadzieję, że to tłumaczy ok Wszystkiego najlepszego, Davidzie 🎹🎼🎵 👍

Dziękuję za informację. Mam jeszcze jedno pytanie. W jakim ustawieniu systemowym nagrywasz ścieżki? Rec only, Play only czy Rec and Play? Czym one tak naprawdę się różnią, bo instrukcja bardzo ogólnie to opisuje. Pozdrawiam serdecznie.
@DavidGordonJDXi8 ай бұрын

The aim of the video was to show you how I created the sequences on the JD-Xi. On the multi track there are a few layered synth lines and added claps at the end, but they basically follow the same patterns.
