Oh my god...I tried to sing along to a performance of hers and recorded myself and listened back. It made me want to quit bothering to even try to sing but ultimately we do it for the passion. I’ve realised that striving to be a better singer we can dream of talent and voices like this but mere mortal singers could spend a lifetime and not reach that place and just listening is enough. This woman is raw pure talent meets passion and hard work. The tone of her voice..smokey rich..divine what ever mic she sings through..live or recorded..utterly mind blowing. Her power and musicality is just as good as it gets, her expression the same..she’s faultless live..utterly the same as recorded. I can imagine they don’t ever bother with second takes in the studio with her. No editing needed. I can imagine the producers hands shaking as he simply puts a touch of reverb and compression on and doesn’t need to touch it from there as he feels like god just entered the vocal booth.

het eindigen van de noten in een open vomr door midel van een zachte falsetto flip is trouwens enorm zeldzaam en prachtig om te horen. Er zijn weinig zangers die deze eigenschap hebben. Voor mij vind ik het bij leona lewis het mooist! Haar eind noten gaan altijd slightly over in een zachte yoddel achige falsetto die heel natuurlijk klinkt en ook heel haunting! Dat maakt haar stem enorm emotioneel en geeft het een huilend achtig effect wat ik prachtig vind!!! Leona is the master of ending note flips. Deze meid hier heeft dat ook heel hard en ook bij dit meid klinkt heel erg mooi. Ik vind het trouwnes altijd heel mooi als zangers met een zachte yoddle achtige huil eindigen. Dat is zo uniquek en geeft emotie. De meeste zangers stoppen de noot gewoon ineens en dat is zo boring en laat weing emotie binne vind ik. De yoddle geeft een voorproefje van hoe de zanger of zangeres zou klinken als ze zou huilen of emotioneel zou zijn.
