This is the biggest stage in the world, the Eurovision song contest, and it reaches on average 180 million viewers each year. Compared to the super bowl, which has an average view count of 98 million viewers, it is safe to say that this contest is a huge deal. Davina did not compete but was the interval act during one of the two semi-finals, and she easily gave the best performance of everyone that evening... but she wasn't in the contest hehehe. Water was the theme that year because the contest was hosted in the Netherlands, and we're famous for our water management, we know all too well what the power of water is, how important it is, and how water management is the only way to ensure water availability and security in the near and far future. I also love how they depicted the "spark of life" in the video because water... is life, it is what gave birth to life, water is the spark.

It was more about the Netherlands because they host the Eurovision songcontest. The Netherlands fight against and with the water. And where she was standing on to hold back the water is the Deltawerken that protect us against the water

Like mentioned here before, this was the interval act at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. We’ve got a big connection with the water, which both threatens us with flooding & provides us with enormous wealth. That dam you saw there, is part of the great Delta Works. Hey guys, 73 year old hippie from Holland (Floor/Anneke/Simone/Davina/Arjen-land) reporting in: Holland is known for their water technique, they sell this skill all over the world. The reason we have those skills is because we've been fighting water for as long as we exist. We even took land from the sea to make way for agriculture and living space for our inhabitants. For The Wolfman...: The fact that she "The water, the water etc." whispered is because the water is something that can come silently and destroy things…. In February 1953, the southwest of the Netherlands was flooded by the North Sea. We started the world famous "Delta Works". (One of the Seven Wonders of the World; the world's largest flood defense project). You saw part of it when Davina stood in front of the water wall... So yes, if you want to talk about water, you have to talk to the people from the Netherlands. This show was an interval act of the Eurovision show organized by the Netherlands. shine on... 🤘👍

1953 The Netherlands... watersnoodramp flooding in the Netherlands. We have always battled the water having usually to much but now even we experiance droughts... That is why the song is so powerfull and singing it on the Eurovision songcontest not even as a contestant... chills every time. Yes I am Dutch and love Davina Michelle. Davina has become one of my favorite relatively (here) unknowns. She was the interlude act at Eurovision with this...she would have won the whole thing. Her live version of "Liar" is where you can hear her true voice. Loved that you two.

Regarding the visuals: this was a live show, broadcast live on TV all across the Europe and beyond (look into the Eurovision Song Contest phenomenon) and probably the biggest live tv show on the world. All of the visual effects you saw (besided the filmed part in the middle section with that tidal wave) were added live so what you saw on the screen was not all how it looked on the stage. This is something that has hardly even been done before and is only just now becoming possible. Davina was not part of the contest but was one of several interval acts and these interval acts are usually a bit on the corny side but when we The Netherlands finally won the Contest again after many many years they really stepped up and produced something superb the next year (every winner gets to organise the next year's contest). There is also a really cool one (especially visually) with a singer called Eefje De Visser and probably the most spectacular one was Glennis Grace interval act in the final where virtually the huge Erasmus bridge was 'moved' into the arena (you have to see it to know what I mean by it).

The Dutch are not famous for their water Engineering, but also the greatest with Agumented reality. Where you looking at, is the largest AR studio in the world. (Ahoy Rotterdam, Sports Center, Concert Hall en so on) look at the intermediate act from the final, that’s also great.

We take water for granted, but only 1% of the total water resources on earth we can use for drinking and much of the 1% is polluted by pesticides etc. We should take better care, and share the resources evenly across the whole planet. Love your comments on the song! Thanks.

Nice Reaction! Pink's Reaction to Davina's cover is what started to get her famous. She has a video where she tells everything that happened for her after the Pink Reaction. That was in Oct. 2017 and Davina was invited to be on Beste Zangers 2018, so she has some good songs from that show if you want react to some of them. Also check out Maria Fiselier from that Beste Zangers too, she's an Opera Singer. She does a cover of Eminems song Lose Yourself from his movie 8 Mile.

The Netherlands hosted the Eurovision Song Contest during covid. Every sequence of the ESC has one or more interval acts. Davina wrote this one and it refererred to The Netherlands as the formost civil enginering country because we have been battling the water for centuries. The Netherland litterally translates as the lowlands. When all the dykes and levies break about 40% of The Netherlands is gone. The scene where Davina puts her hand and face int the water was filmed at the "Deltawerken". This is the largest dam in the world that can close of the south of the Netherlands from the North Sea. It is so big that it can even be seen from space. The south of the Netherland had a flood in 1953 that killed over 2000 people. As a result the Delta Works were built.
