This video is going to confuse the hell out of a lot of people. For one, this is not specifically a Resolve 18 feature, it's been there since Resolve 17. 2) It's not called Object Mask, it's called Magic Mask, and is designed to work specifically with human shapes - the whole body, or specific areas like head, or arms. 3) The actual Object selection feature in Magic Mask has not currently released yet as of 25th April 2022, (not even in the first Resolve 18 beta).

I know it's just a show case scenario of the tool but I don't think you'd want to use it here at least with the level of finesse achieved here. looks like a cut out. Would you want to do more demos where the tool looks more professional for use case scenario? fine tune options, etc.. subtle use examples where it doesn't reveal itself or even heavier use but with specific scenarios where the mask also isn't reveled? but thank you for the tool demo. really like your channel
