Davis Mountains State Park - Campsite Photos and Review including Accessibility

If you are looking for a cooler spot to camp then look no further than Davis Mountains State Park in west Texas near Fort Davis. The elevation is over 5,000 feet so it is a great destination to get away from the heat. The McDonald Observatory is very close by and Big Bend National Park is not too far away. The skies are dark at night and it is very quiet since it is away from major towns and highways. This park is a hidden gem in my opinion especially if you enjoy watching birds and wildlife or want to walk/ride the paved roads or hike the various trails. Im from Pecos Texas live down south on 17 in the Lindsey area I can see the mountains from my back yard and on a good clear morning you can see some trails it’s a nice sight I got some good pictures from the snow/ice storm that hit us in 2021
