While on our tour of Bali, Indonesia, we stopped at Taman Festival, an abandoned amusement park to look for snakes, lizards, pythons, monitor lizards, and other reptiles, and man, this place did not disappoint! Like a scene from Jurassic World, the park is home to crumbling buildings, statues wrapped in vines and the swampy remains of an old crocodile pit!
New Reptile Adventures Videos every Saturday (at 9am Pacific)!

The title of Wolf Snake comes from the fact that their front (maxillary and mandibular) teeth are quite large and reminiscent of the fang-like canines of a wolf. The word Lycodon, the genus to which these snakes belong to, originates from the Greek words ‘Lycos’ meaning wolf and ‘odon’ meaning tooth.

Love watching your videos, thank for producing them! The New Latin name Lycodon is derived from the Greek words λύκος (lykos) meaning wolf and οδόν (odon) meaning tooth, and refers to the fang-like anterior maxillary and mandibular teeth.

The African Snake Bite Institute says the Lycophidion capense, common name "wolf snake," gets its name from them having long, recurved teeth in both the upper and lower jaws.

Lycodon is Greek and means wolf tooth, just from the disproportionately long front teeth of the species. Nice pit viper, vine snake and of course retic. Quite a lot of diversity for an urban setting.

I had thought Boiga cynodon got its name from the same source as Lycodon: its actual teeth. On the note of teeth: I found a shed one from my retic and have saved it now to demonstrate to people why they commend so much respect. Mine can't be much convinced to bite (at least once she's been convinced it's not actually always feeding time), but those knife edges on that dentition are no joke.

Cool content, but something about it just makes me feel like some of those were pets brought to that location for filming. just didn’t feel like authentic herping (I could be wrong) content it felt more like a scripted wannabe TV show

A wolf snake is a slender colubrid snake, small in size, that lives in the lowland forests of southern Asia. It gets its genus name because its front teeth resemble the fangs of a wolf. Not certain if it's accurate ...

Why would a reptile need to absorb the suns heat on the Equator when the environment is a constant 32c by day and 24c at night. I understand absorbing the sun heats in northern latitudes, but not on the Equator. By the way that reticulated python, was the most beautiful one I have ever seen.

This is a little known fact but the name wolf snake actually comes from the fact that these snakes are a species of wolf. The reason that these wolves look like snakes is just convergent evolution. Occasionally you will see them howling at the moon and hunting in packs.
