I totally agree. In fact, she sang this at a friend's mom's funeral in Dec. 2018. I was in the small ensemble that sang...three of them were her people! She worked the STEW out of us with that song! When it was over, she turned to the women and said, "Whew! I enjoyed singing with you big women!" 😂😂 Well, it was a funeral, but I sure did enjoy singing with that little lady too! She is every bit the fireball now that she was then!

I thank ELOHIM I was five years old when I first heard Shirley Caesar and the Caravan's singing this song on the radio. That's when I first fell in love with Shirley Caesar's voice and talents and now I'm 63 years old, and Shirley still going strong. When I was 17 years old Shirley asked me to join her group, and if I didn't have one more year of high school I would have joined her definitely. I so regret never being able to join her then. And if I could I would join her right now. I definitely know every song she's ever done. I could be her double I've practiced her so much. LOL. People at my church used to call me little Shirley.

Who knew Shirley Caesar was singing about her own people way back in the 60" s when she first started singing this song. And she has not stopped yet Even though Shirley is getting old now we still love to hear her sing it as no one else can do it.
