Another Great vlog Davud. It is definitely expensive to visit The Valley of the Kings, but it’s so interesting to learn their history. You’ve made a good choice on what to visit there. Your bargaining skills and patience are commendable. Love from South Africa❤

Egypt is a rich country with a huge tourism. Suez Canal, Nile, refined petroleum, crude petroleum, petroleum gas, nitrogenous fertilizers and gold. Cotton, rice, wheat, corn, sugarcane, sugar beets, onions, tobacco, and beans are the main crops. Sadly the government is corrupted and greedy. Foreign elites shareholders prosper from the land leaving the citizens in a poor state.

Outstanding video that captures this experience far better than I have seen before. I was left with a much better comprehension of these tombs in terms of their scale and textures as well as the relationships of the parts. Seeing the ceilings in combination with the walls communicates color and design dynamics that are lost in face on still shots. I totally enjoyed this tour. And, I like Davud's personality a lot. He shows unfailing respect to all his hosts in all his videos. Kudos!

They definitely knew something back then about the afterlife that we don’t know now that’s for sure , all that effort , how amazing is all that
@Alambe7275 күн бұрын
I don’t know about that. They’re off. The life was consist of taking horses, cattle gold slaves with them to the afterlife. I think that’s a little bit out there when the afterlife consist of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the black Egyptian kings were advanced in their building skills in economy, and military forces, but when it comes to the afterlife, if you do not have, Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior you’re out the life means nothing but darkness and emptiness

We always wanted to visit the Pyramids in Giza, and Valley of the Kings Luxor: The experience we had in the Marrakesh Morocco from tout or hassles from people who were shoving their way into buying stuff, sightseeing, shopping and restaurants etc. but all you wanted was to appreciate what those places offer you🤔… also to relax during your holiday! Egypt and Morocco should have to do something about it. I’m sure, we are one of the thousands of people who are dismayed by their actions. And avoiding these beautiful places to visit! 😢

This was a beautifully photographed video. Continue with your patience, the locals are suffering from high inflation and food prices. You are a kind soul. Yes lots of artifacts have been stolen. Go to London and Germany. Their museums are full of ancient Egyptian artifacta that they refuse to return. I guess they would be empty if they send them back. I hope you took a nile cruise down the river to Aswan!

This is a wonderful video! I'm doing my Masters in Egyptology and would love to visit again now that I have a much better understanding of all of this stuff. Yeah, the Valley of the Kings (and Queens) were chosen because they were hidden and only accessible through one pathway, enabling them to be better protected. Despite this, there were still tomb robberies during within the New Kingdom. I've translated the Tomb Robbery Papyrus, which details the 'trials' of several workmen accused of robbing from the royal tombs. Later on, tomb robbery was so bad that they moved many of the pharaohs from their tombs and placed them into a single cachet, this is where we found most of the pharaoh's mummies that are still on display. The walls are covered in parts of several afterlife texts, such as the Book of the Dead, the Amduat, the Book of Gates, The Litany of Re, etc. Most of which detail the journey of the sun-god through the afterlife, on which the deceased is part of. I don't believe that this tomb is the only one carved in raised relief (the 3D effect you mentioned at around 20:25) as most royal tombs were supposed to be like that. It's one way in which private tombs were distinguished from the royal tombs. I believe it's the most expensive because of how large it is, and the good state of preservation (as you and the guide mentioned) For more information on the tomb of Seti I (and all of the other tombs) this website is an incredible source of information thebanmappingproject.com/tombs/kv-17-sety-i

I was lucky enough to visit here for my honeymoon in 2013. Its such a breathtakingly beautiful, serene place and you pick up the vibes when youre there. A lot has changed since we went, we werent allowed cameras or phones, photography was forbidden and I am so bummed I havent a record of my visit. Id love to go back one day as this holiday was so special but unfortunately Egypt has become so expensive to travel to and I somehow think that what you pay isnt transfered to the people who make your stay so memorable. The poverty we saw was heartbreaking. One night we walked along the nile from our boat to the market in Luxor, kids were begging and were even grateful to be given even pens and pencils for school which was so sad. Im hoping things have changed since our visit.
