I was able to meet Davy about 5 times (1986-2002) in my life. He always had time to stop for fans and pose for pictures and sign autographs. One of the nicest celebrities that I ever met. I was heartbroken when I heard that he had passed. Been a fan since 1966. Let's get The Monkees into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame already!!!

I also had the pleasure of meeting Davy-3 times. The first time I met him was in early 1988 when he was promoting his book “They Made a Monkee out of Me.” I was 17 then and I got a kiss on the cheek from him. Needless to say, I had the story to tell my classmates for a week. I agree that Davy was a very nice person, very genuine and it was obvious that he loved his fans. I also believe that he had this joie de vivre about him that he showed in his performing and in the way he presented himself. I was shocked and heartbroken when I heard about his passing. I remain grateful for the wonderful memories that Davy has provided me with. I’m glad that he gave you these memories.

For a small guy, he stands head and shoulders above the rest of us in talent stakes. His vocal range and feel for the song is very impressive for his age. In those days, fame had to be earned . Sadly, these days you hardly need any talent at all to be famous.
