I feel like I’m IN the movies even on my phone/iPad. I can see every barnacle open and close, every strand of seaweed glimmer and shift, every single suction cup on his tentacles moves in proportion. It’s amazing. They did such a fantastic job. The actors made the movies. The cgi sealed the deal. What a shame they shot themselves in the foot and destroyed a franchise that absolutely COULD have survived one last BIG BANG to go out in style.

@@bahamute6198 yeah I’m not dismissing him it’s just that all those movies used way too much CG with too little practical effects stretching the CG team thin and the CG models payed the price. Whereas majority of pirates of the caribbean was practical, the ships swords etc. which let the CG team focus on the characters. You can’t tell me (without lying) that any of those characters can compare to how incredible Davy jones looks. Sad truth is you look at Andy’s characters and never for a single second do you or anyone think “oh that looks super real”, nope. But when people look at Davy the textures, lighting, glare looks so real it’s almost gross. Basically all of Andy’s movies looks like a video game while Davy looks real. Btw the cast and director of the LOTR trilogy have said that golem doesn’t hold up to this day…

@vokemxnosexpertmodding1741 i can tell you, as it is my opinion vs yours, that King Kong gives Davy Jones a run for his money. He looks real and feels real, and it was made/released in the same timeframe as Dead Man's Chest. I also think Ceasar from Planet of the Apes was compelling. I'm saying they are just as good to me as Davy. No better or worse. Everything about the CGI you brought up is subjective, so I see no point in us going back and forth with our opinions. Enjoy future movies.
