anyone was able to compile it? all docs I followed always end up with failures. the closest I could get was up to here, "WARNING: Failed to find Xtensa toolchain, may need to alter PATH or set one in the configuration menu". if I set it, it fails again with other error CC build error etc. I'm looking for a good doc to set it from scratch so I can compile.

Hey, the project is really great. We want to feature it on our channel (no money involved). If it sounds good, then kindly reply.

Is it still compatible for esp idf ? And it is possible to test it o breadboard, just with basic components?
@DBTechYT5 жыл бұрын
I might have to buy one of these for myself. They look really cool! But then I'd need a small 3D printer to make a case for it I think.

Is this compatible with the Odroid Go?
@DavyBot5 жыл бұрын
Very much so. The hardware is similar but ESPlay is shaped more like a PSP and Odroid Go more like a Gameboy. ESPlay has headphone jack while Odroid has internal speaker. The software shares a lot of code too but imo the ESPlay Micro code is a bit easier to read (both the firmware and the launcher UI).

Can you program it to play Xbox , playstation and PC games ?
@gdclemo4 ай бұрын
Unlikely. It's a $5 microcontroller with hardly any memory and no GPU. You might get Doom running on it though.

I have a question are these real games from real consoles on a emulator or these home made games?
@ignaciocapul8879 Жыл бұрын
Yes both with low frame rates

@@ignaciocapul8879 I’m sorry that was not my question. Are these games home made or emulated from the original games?
@johndripper4 жыл бұрын
maybe if they designed d PCB to let users use few gpip pins like the odroid go it would HV been nice :)
@DavyBot4 жыл бұрын
Makerfabs does PCB fabrication and the hardware is open source so you could add your own GPIO pins and order it. But if you're not up for that task there are a couple of pins exposed on the bottom (I2C, but you can do whatever you want with them in firmware, or use an I2C chip that breaks out more digital IO pins).
