To all the Muslims celebrating Eid al-adha, this is what you're ACTUALLY commemorating! This is the REAL and INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL story of Abraham's sacrifice, from Genesis 22 2 : ""Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love-Isaac-and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you”" [Consider now, that It is from this moment of God's decree that Abraham understood Isaac to be symbolically dead.] Genesis 22 :4 " ON THE THIRD DAY Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. He said to his servants, “Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. "" [Hmmm, so he was dead and something happens on the third day... We continue...] Genesis 22: 7 "Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?” “Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. “The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the LAMB for the burnt offering?” Abraham answered, “God HIMSELF will provide the LAMB for the burnt offering, my son.”" [This next part is what you believe you are celebrating this weekend through Eid-al-adha] Genesis 22: 10 "Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.” [So from Abrahams perspective, his son was now alive... on the third day...having been dead!!!This is however only a fraction of the story] Genesis 22:13 Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a RAM caught by its horns. He went over and took the RAM and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. [Note for emphasis, God did NOT provide a LAMB, but a RAM] GENESIS 22:14 "So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”" [ON THE MOUNTAIN OF THE LORD IT WILL BE PROVIDED!!! What will be provided??? THE LAMB!!!! And 2000 years later ON THAT VERY SAME MOUNTAIN, God indeed DID provide the the LAMB for the sacrifice....for the sins of THE WORLD... As another prophet, John the Baptist spoke when he saw Jesus...] John 1: 29 " The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the LAMB of God, WHO TAKES AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD!"" [And this time it was the LAMB who rose ON THE THIRD DAY!!! So dear Muslims, I hope this has helped you to just see a tiny portion of the incredible depth of theology in the Bible, and that help show you that Jesus is imprinted throughout the Old testament...because it is all about him. And I pray this Eid that your eyes will be opened to realise that you're commemorating a foreshadowing of the death of Jesus Christ, as an atonement for your sins, and that you should not deny yourselves the love your creator has for you, so much so that he would die for you! Do they only read Jesus the Son of God? Don't they read that many other prophets were called the Son of God? If they read it, what might they interpret it as? If they say he was miraculously born of a woman only without a man.Why don't they give Adam the divine status of being born without a father and mother?Why didn't they ever think that Eve had no mother but a father?Do they read their book? Prophet Muhammad according to 'Amr Ibn Sharhabil, mentioned to his wife, Khadija, that he feared he was possessed by demons and wondered whether others consider him possessed [i.e. evil spirits] (source: pfanoter 1910 :345). Muhammads own testimony thought it was DEMONIC. ******************* The Holy Bible tells us: 'A boy possessed by the Devil, foams at the mouth.' That is why that son of god preached with authorities and miracles to make the people to get back the lost Kingdom of God. As per your Quraan ,he is coming back as the supreme judge to judge the in justice. Then your Mohammed born to a sinful man and died as a man will have to stand before Jesus for his judgement.
