So, when Jesus said He did not know when He would return, He was actively humbling Himself and taking the form of a servant (see Philippians 2:7-8). Since no other mortal knows the time of Jesus’ return-that information is the Father’s alone (Matthew 24:36)-Jesus voluntarily restricted His knowledge on that point. It's not just about different wills; one is the will of the person asking ie Jesus (pbuh), the other is the Will of the Grantor ie The Father whom Jesus (pbuh) says is The Only True God. Jesus (pbuh) says "The Father is greater than I", "The Father is greater than All" ie Allahu Akbar. If the Disciples of Jesus (pbuh) with whom he spent 3 years thought he was God, why in the hour of greatest tribulation they all foresook him and ran away (according to the Bible)? Happily, the Quran gives the "Christian" a way out (using the words of our Beloved Sheikh Ahmed Deedat). It tells us that Jesus (pbuh) was not killed, nor was he crucified, but God saved him and raised him to Himself, ie God heard his prayer and took The Cup away from him (unlike the Bible version where his prayer was rejected). So it is the Quran that gives The Good News, not the so-called "MMLJ Gospels" of the "Christians" which actually give The Sad News (I was so so depressed when as a child I read in a book borrowed from the British Council Library that the wicked had prevailed and put my Prophet to death on the Cross. My Mother seeing my sadness then told me the Quranic version, and I was so grateful to Allah to have saved my Prophet and my Hero).
