This is a phenomenal tune. Have you ever been on a plane and wondered what everyone around is doing and where they're going? Great rhythm and melody and a free-spirited sense of adventure through the whole song. Loved it from the first time I heard it! It's another evolution in their song-writing/synergy.

musical and lyrical, song-writing geniuses. This band is just so good. And the reason why it reminds you of old bands, is because, way-back when, there used to be a plethora of bands and artists, not pigeon-holed into 1 of the 10,000 genre classifications, that just made GOOD music. O yeah, this sounds like Dawes...

This is a great song, and as I read thru many of the comments below many of them have one thing in common which is that this song reminds a lot of us of great bands from the earlier years of great rock (late 60s thru the 80s). To me it was America that I first thought of.

I don't know why but I adore this song. It reminds me of Steely Dan and other 70s bands and like that it tells a story of an inner and outer journey (also something we used to see more of in the 70s). I can't stop listening to it, for whatever reason.

Gregory Turner Still checking out many more of their videos/songs as time permits. I'm impressed at some of the gigs they've gotten - like Late Night with David Letterman. The lead vocalist (particularly in this song) sounds a lot like one of the singers from the group America. Great stuff to my ears.

These boys are great. Saw them in Manchester, England last year in a tiny little club called the Ruby Lounge, and they tested out a lost of the tracks off of the new album and even though I really like this one, I think it is amongst the weakest that they played. Most People, Someone Will and especially Something In Common are great tracks and I am really excited to hear the whole of the album based on these alone! My current favourite band.

This reminds me of what would happen if Alanta Rhythm Section and Ben Folds made a song... I heard this song two days in a row at about the same time on my local Cleveland rock/awesome station- 87.7FM "Cleveland's Sound" and I was baffled- "Why is 87.7 suddenly obsessed with playing this Atlanta Rhythm Section song??" I honestly thought it had to be ARS, the Outlaws, or something.... Finally I heard that word.. "Dawes".... some band I remember hearing of in passing.... Wow. I MUST hear more...

I describe their sound as: "A soulful Jackson Browne had a love child with Mark Knopfler." Love this song-it's groove/feel is completely life-affirming hypnotic. And I think I understand it more with each listening. However, anyone have any opinions on what "the conversation between the rivers and freeways" is? I have some ideas, but I'm curious to hear what others think.

In my opinion this track is the money track. If your goal is to make money while doing what you love then this is the most commercial pop track I've heard from them. In the Music Business that what it's all about. To sell records. Obviously they know what they are doing. They did their homework because this is the single. The music biz is now a single driven business model. The bottom line is to Sell singles and become known by the masses.

I'm with you on this. I have heard him apologizing for the '70's sound of the first record, but in my opinion, that record will be hard to follow it is so good. This song is disappointing. He alos said that the new record sounds more contemporary, but not this song. The keyboard on this song sounds like it was lifted from a Christopher Cross record from back in the day. I love this band so much. I hope they will go back to Jonathan Wilson for the next one.
