ST got wayyyyy too many tubas to be playing these basic fanfares. DT pulled off technical fanfares with a section half the size. You can clearly hear who filling up the horns outta these sections too. Just bcuz yo sound spreaded out more doesn’t make you a more solid section. I can guarantee DT sound travels further than ST’s🤦🏾‍♂️ from a musician POV I’m disappointed in this battle.

Also the marching band is not the football team which has walk-ons whom may not travel with the team (most times even they do) but Marching Bands that’s just doesn’t make any sense, even large bands such as FAMU and cookman take all members even thou they will sit in the stands during the halftime show. I was also at the OBC and guess what fam, “JSU was the same size.”
