I think just like trees, stones are regenerating in different places over time because I've seen stone pits in places I know they weren't before. It's both accurate and smart because stone is always going to be required, so if the developers didn't make it regenerate, you'd have to go further and further out for stone, or pay exorbitant amounts for it in trade.

Put a few more hay piles next to the fields...so they will stack there instead of dragging all the way back to storage...this way it's collected quickly after the harvest Town is definitely growing and now has stone walls...NICE! The guy was standing next to the sheep when he got struck by lightening...LOL

I have a little experience playing this game.. What worked for me, to minimize casualties was build 2-4 towers (inside the gates) at each gate entrance.. , When the attack, Close the gates... When they engage, the towers, open the gates, to the let the dogs, and towers, "Tank", and let ur people "Spank",...

for anyone watching this late who needs a hot tip, if your settlement is near the river, don't build an entire section of wall on that border, save your resources and just build it on all the shallow crossings and the bridges, that's where the raiders will always cross, and if they go for a swim, you can just pick them off with bows. This way you save some resources.

I think a good idea for the split village is advanced posts stations with a hut or something that can hold food, I don't think the ai is too smart in this game so they are always dying in dumb ways of hunger and hypothermia. By the way, they never actually invented plows or also seed spreaders, seems basic compared to steel making.

I 100% agree with you about the gates Raptor. I don't understand why people get triggered when you place them so the door swings out. It only makes sense to have them like that.

The reason they made gates open inward is because it's easier to rebuild wooden gates than metal hinges. Doesn't matter which direction they open if some army is trying to break them down they'll eventually get broken. If they open outwards you're going to break the hinges. If they open inwards you're only going to break the wooden doors. Anything metal in those days was a lot harder to make compared to today

Regarding your mentioned plans of other settlements. I've tried this, but it seems it hurts efficiency - in my opinion too much. Workers don't stick to their area. Now, I don't know if you have any influence on the developers - but I think this could be solved like this: Either to make it a specified building - the town centre - or a custom 'task flag' like the gathering areas, and then give this TC the possibility to assign citizens. Build another TC another place on the map, and assign a portion of them to the new town. The TC could have a flexible territorial circle/zone so that within that zone people works the relevant resources and deposit resources in the buildings in that zone.

I wish you could assign specific items to people so you could assign farming tools to people you want to be farmers and shields and swords/spears to people you want to be warriors and then you could assign them to do those specific jobs and not do others like have the warriors stay on platforms or in towers so if a raid happens then all your people with weapons aren't on the other side of the town gathering straw.
