The part when Ken Foree character Peter strips off his fancy clothes , jewelry, and money and swaps into his swat gear is symbolic to me. It shows that Peter may value these things as materialistic and pointless compared to his battle gear that serves more of a purpose. Like Fly boy girlfriend said earlier. This place is a neatly wrapped prison that it has all of you blinded by how pretty it looks. Peter, at this point, may see the picture. But Fly Boy himself could not. Due to his spoiled greed of wanting it all for him. He ensues in a gunfight with the bikers only to land himself in danger. Roger also yells we whipped him and GOT IT ALL!" But in a small detail, you see Roger looking around the room to barely nothing but the gun and other useless objects. When they arrived at the mall, It partially stripped them all from being survivalist to spoiled house snobs.

Fantastic analysis! 👏 as many times as I have seen this film, I never picked up on that little detail with Roger. Great job pointing that out!

Something I just noticed after all these years and never really thought about till now, so if "We might as well have power in everything. We might need it." Why then did the escalators in Penneys have none? (Hence Roger sliding down one when he and Peter are 'shopping')

This film is an all-time classic! It's arguably the best zombie movie ever made! The zombies could have looked better, though. I understand this was in the late 70s, but the makeup looked very cheap and fake. Flyboy was by far the best-looking zombie, though!

Probably my favorite movie of all time. But man, this commentary is awful. The guys have no chemistry. They don't talk about hardly any of the details i would want from Savini, who's a horror god, by the way, i'm not hating), but it just falls flat. The commentary with the 4 main actors is wayyy better. You can tell they're still friends and Ken Foree, at least, is clearly getting his buzz on. You just get way more of the fun stuff. I was really disappointment in this one. Maybe if Savini was in on the one with the actors, it would have gone better. Anyway, it does have a few goodies. Worth watching.

as a huge fan of this and other Romero films, it's great to hear a rare commentary for the first time and see how they chose to edit this for the UK market - at least this wasn't banned as a "video nasty" like Evil Dead and so many others however, I have a rare DOTD French poster that has the X rating on it 🙂 I look forward to exploring the other content you have here, thanks again I have all of Savini's books and I used to practice a simple form of make-up fx for Halloween and small student films a lot of my original music I post on YT has a horror/sci-fi vibe inspired by Goblin's score here as well as stuff by John Carpenter, Fabio Frizzi, and music from other classic horror projects
