Me too! Gonna leave it on the table for a couple days more I think. 🙂

31:50 i think you must first remove the defiant marker to make it available to then train a civilian unit

Pretty sure not. Off the top of my head, the ability tells you to remove the defiant marker if it’s there and, either way, the unit becomes trained.

Always loved your content, and you finally persuaded me to get DOTZ3rd. Managed to snag it new for $75, first printing. I really did not like Nemo's War and also Robinson Crusoe, but I think your plays made me see that this game is different from those. Keep up the great playthroughs!

Thanks for the comment and letting me know! And this game is definitely such a great add to a solo collection. It is crazy hard to win and I the comparisons to both games you mentioned but Zeds outshines both of those games to a very high extent for lots of reasons. Enjoy! 🙂

Greg I am loving this game! Playing directors cut now. Thanks for the recc! It is odd cause I hated Nemos War and RCrusoe. While I thought i just dislike dice chucking, Dotz does it in a fun way. Do you like to use any of the optional rules in the rulebook?? Any you suggest using? One variant I like is to create some dice manipulation opportunities: Every failed forage or research action gets you one token that lets you change one dice value +1 or -1 on a future roll. Max 10 tokens. I dont use this all the time, but it is fun when i do, while mitigating randomness and gives some more agency in the dice rolls. Great game!

@@inwoolee4051 I used one of the optional rules once but I tend not to play with any. Occasionally, I’ll use the coop rules to trigger the pressure events, but that’s about it.

Just wrapped up a painful near win, almost made it through on Director's Cut difficulty without ever having ammo

Oh yeah - nothing hurts in the world of solo gaming quite like losing on the last card or two of Director's Cut Zeds... :) Hope you got your revenge!!

Have not wqatch this vid yet . Comment on your recent 2 ep plythrough on Zeds: Playthrough was" "MARVALOUS" and well made/edited. I just bought the game TODAY, June 31 😉2024 because of your vid LOL Try "Zulu at the Ramparts" next ,for another solitaire war game to do a playthrough.

Thanks for the comment, Chris, and glad to here you just got your hands on this game!! And thanks for the rec, too - price is a bit steep and I've got a bunch of things I wnat to get to before I add any new games but I'll keep it on my radar.

@@SoloPlaythroughs The price of everything now is steep. But at least such single player wargames get me away from the screen, so to speak . So it is good. Yea, Zulus on the Ramparts, is another "tower defence" .Not as complex as Zeds but the same.

Now I know why I didn't like this game: the character names subliminally triggered me as a 40-something Cardinals fan (Actually I'm just sick of zombies. I like these tower defense games normally.)

Ha! Yeah - Victory Point could make a fortune if they released sets of heroes for every MLB team. 🤣 And I hear you about being sick of zombies - one of the many things I love about Zeds is that it playfully mocks the B zombie movie tropes and doesn’t take itself too seriously.
