Dawn of Wars Biggest Mod is BACK! Unification 7.0 is finally here! Warhammer 40,000

Kek here! So much glad you are enjoying the new update Captain! The Steel Legion rework has to be one of my most favourite aspects of 7.0 we have worked on, after Renegade Guard that is. The entirety of our team has done some tremendous work and I am so happy to seeing people having fun with it! Tank Company is indeed what you saw. Pure tank. Armoured Fists requires playing a more combined arms approach as you saw. It is a bit more challenging than the more straight forward Tank but I believe has a lot of neat combinations and unique stuff to try. Canoness Errant Setheno is a character from Helsreach. If you have read it or watched the fan animation, she is the Canoness who kicked some sense to Grimaldus(who is also in the mod in the Black Templars). She has also been the mentor and a personal friend of Yarrick, ever since he was still a regular Commissar. As Caldaris(or Xaphan heh), all races are mods our Team has been working for years, hence the name. It "unifies" our work into one package. Exception is the Tyranids, which is a mod created by the Nids Dev Team with whom we have worked close together and we got in an agreement to incorporate provided we do not change their art and SFX, the exception being adding the Hierophant, which was their request. Lastly, I see you are a fellow Elysian appreciator. I have some good news, I am working on a Droppers Faction for a future version, most likely 8.0. So you can consider them as "confirmed". ;)

Hello, thanks for your work. Me and a friend are experiencing the same problem: the IA doesn't fight or even build anything. It just stays with a builder and does nothing. We tried multiples things but it doesn't work. Even in survival modd / Insane / heroic, the IA is very dumb and easy to fight. Did you experienced the same thing? Are we the only one? Thanks for your attention :)

@@JDP-s4p The one thing I can think of is you might have the "Dummy AI" check box ticked which does exactly what you said, leaving just a builder and doing nothing.

Shack, I don’t necessarily know how you launch your mods for dawn of war, but there is an option on some launchers to turn the fog off. Lets you actually use the zoom out mod on all maps👌

thats the thing, he could have that option turned on but it doesnt do anything if you dont run dow mod manager in admin mode, i used to think my mod download was corrupted when the fog would be here like this but realized it was my fault.

I should add a popup that explains that you need to start DoW Mod Manager as Administrator to use "Disable Fog" feature xD Also I'm not sure that everyone understands what "Toggle LAA" means.

Xaphan here, nice to see you are enjoying the mod, even if you are playing the Imperium and not the followers of the true gods :D Jokes aside, Just a quick correction, the majority of the factions here are owned by the Unification mod team themselves (whether inherited from former team members or created fully by themselves depends on race). The exception being Tyranids who is owned by the Tyranid Mod team, who let the Unification team integrate it, with the caveat that they do not edit the art or tech tree. You can also remove that pesky zoom out fog by setting both the mod manager and soulstorm itself to run in admin mode, and tick disable fog in the mod manager. Note this only works with the steam version.

For people unfamiliar with Yarrick, there is a KZbin video called Helsreach the movie that kind of shows you what the wars on Armageddon were about. And yes, there is a SoB shrine on Armageddon, though its only the Canoness and her 2 bodyguards.

Heyo, glad you're enjoying the new version! The rework to the Steel Legion is great. Though personally my favorite Guard faction from the new version is the Renegade Guard, cause I'm a heretic. ;P (Also I got to voice a unit in it) The Fortress of Arrogance is only available in the Tank Company doctrine. You can check out the Wiki for more information. We got all of the faction rosters up at least and up to date for 7.0. Hope to see you do more Unification videos. You should try out the other new Guard factions too.

Baldermort's Guide to Warhammer did indeed do Yarrick. Source: Voice director for Steel Legion. Also- as far as the music- a lot of them for Steel Legion and a few factions were made by me. The tracks are a mix of covers I did of popular RTS tracks and some other homages, and some original tunes. They shouldn't trigger any copyright because they would fall under creative commons license I think.

Captin' if you decide play Unification campaign(which has its own quirks) instead of Crucible, be sure to look at Unification's 'campaign configurator' tool - it has many options to tailor campaign to your taste.

Hydra= quad antiair and in a pinch anti light vehicle and infantry, wyvern =quad mortars good against masses and medium vehicles or en masse good against heavier vehicles (though not super heavies)

Wasn't this mod but Ultimate Apocalypse, but one time I did a 5v5 bot stomp with friends, or what ever the largest battle size option was, and I was the IG with but I ended up somehow being about 5 min behind whats actually happening. The result was I built about 10 barracks and 10 manufactorums and set infantry squads and tanks to auto build with a rally point in the enemy base. I also built a lot of nukes but I had to try and lead the frontlines and guess where they'd be in 5min with the result being I tended to nuke my allies more than the enemy.

Isn't it ironic that the old games are still so much more creative thanks to their incredible mod support? Look at the gaming market today. The big names have these vast resources and manpower, and yet they continue to fail in the face of true passion. Helldivers 2, Manor Lord, Kenshi; Games that are now getting more attention than ever before. And with AI advancements... these big names will be swallowed by the Indi Developers. That is, if the Indi developers can keep their integrity and stay "independent".

30:50 I think Shack missed that the 8.8cm or 88mm flack gun was famed for it's effectiveness as an anti-tank cannon during World War 2. It was deployed as an anti-tank gun despite being an anti-aircraft flak gun by design during the desert campaigns of Erwin Rommel. Not so much deep Warhammer lore as an Easter-egg for those who know their military history.

They did the artillery dirty ngl, basilisk AoE and damage is woethless and the mortar vehicle might as well not exist sadly. Otherwise most of it is okay, some lacklustre compared to the previous SL.

I took a recent dive back into Dawn of war because I wanted to try out one of the mods you covered years ago. Ultimate Apocalypse Mod. Between that UA and Unification, what would be the most stable mod + have the most content for an attempted multiplayer match?

Most content I would say would be Unification just because you have a total of 36 factions to play with. I personally have found Unification to be more stable mainly because its not as massive in scale as UA so generally I find my game doesn't get overloaded from having tons of stuff in game at once. My game literally freezes in UA games sometimes lol. Unification also I think caters more to a "balanced" experience (not perfect, but good for how much there is to balance).
