I agree...I so hope that Fulwiley was shown her choice of bad shots in the 4th in their next film session after that game. It was like she was in a zone and couldn't snap out of it. I was hoping that Dawn would sub her out after the second missed 3.....couldn't risk losing the lead. SMH!

I get your point but actually Malaysia started off hot early in the game.

Forgive me for the thesis introduction, but hear me out😅. I truly believe she will not meet her true potential if she remains with the Gamecocks. Coach Staley placing her on a 'leash' isn't the problem. In an idea situation, the coaching strategy is perfect for building the foundation Malaysia needs to excel. Yet, she's not progressed from the last half of the previous season to now. The coach isn't the problem, it's the mental leash Malaysia places on herself thats the problem. For someone with with a high skill level, her in game IQ needs vast improvement . If she wishes to stay on the team and reach her potential, I honestly believe she needs to spend more time on and off the court studying with Raven. While Raven doesn't have the same leve of shooting, her Basketball IQ is one of the best in the game. BUT, her number problem is the constructioin of the team. You can touch the love they have for each through the screen but the are Malaysia's greatest mental hurdle. She's not the star of the team. The Gamecocks is a whole constellation. Malaysia have supernova energy and those players are competitive and hungry for growth themselves. She doesn' know how to mentally navigate around that enegy and excel consistently and still keep the 'team' in sight. She needs to be on a team where she can be the 'head' of the beast with a supporting cast to reach her potential. It's a mental game with her. I am afraid she may be on the losing end with USC if she stays past this year; especially with returning players and incoming players. She cannot afford to stay stagnant.

I hear you. But she has already improved so much under Dawns leadership. Her defense is so much better this year. Maybe with her, its one thing at a time. Also, she has shown so much improvement on making better offensive decisions this season as well. It seems like sometimes when she deep in the game she revert back to some old ways. She’s not the only one that does that. But that tennessee game showed me that she still has a ways to go. I think she is right where she belongs. She can be the star of the team. Dawn will give her the keys if she can prove it. Joyce is a freshman & she is becoming the star. The last few years Dawn let Zia do whatever she wanted, and Lay way better. I think thats why Dawn is harder on her. She better (generational), but she also wilder (like we saw the other night… sometimes she has to get reined in). Like you said, she can learn alot from Raven, especially in the offseason, so why leave?! She cant learn from Raven the way she needs to if she go to a different school.

@@womenbeballingspot on with a lot from the both of you. Y'all have really high situational basketball IQ or must be local and have seen Milaysia play growing up through the middle and high school years. Lay, does have amazing basketball IQ, but must learn how to channel her competitive nature with patience and the same situational awareness that you two have. UCLA and the Tennessee game, during their runs on the Gamecocks, every Lay missed shot or turnover resulted in points or free throws less than 7 seconds later. Not comparing goats, but just referring to competitive examples, Phil Jackson had to rein in the young Kobe especially against AI, TMac, and Vince Carter because they attacked him on the defensive end but he was asked to play the offensive end thru the post or triangle offense for the best open team shot available. Dawn is, will, and can help Lay better use her superpowers. With human nature, Lay's skillset, talent, and competitive nature may be frustrated because she may see peers like Hidalgo, JuJu, Latson have freedom with high usage rates, while also having some games with 4-5 turnovers and shooting bad shots. The difference is Lay is ahead of Zia and will eventually get more free rein within the offensive structure during her last two years. The key is blocking out the noise to play under Dawn and not transferring into a similar drama scenario like what we've seen around Kiyomi McMiller.

@@godhouse5 good point! But i also think any player that chooses South Carolina has to KNOW that they wont get the same high usage rates as a super star going to a quiet school (like florida st or usc was when Juju & Latson got there). Hidalgo is a dog. She different. She's 1 of 1. She would be a star on any team she chooses. She commands it on both ends. She's relentless. She dont quit. She's not Lay. I've seem plenty of times (especially last year) when Lay would quit on a play, or look defeated. Never seen Hildalgo do that! So i would hope that Lay dont look at her peers & feel a way. Everyone is in their own lane. She is where she is supposed to be. She just has to focus on that. Play disciplined. Play smart. Make more passes. Make more aggressive plays at the basket. Dont always settle for the three. Especially back to back bad ones!

Objective and spot on about my Gamecocks…I’m so glad you are back to posting 🫡🫡 P.S. Have you seen the 6 min interview w/Lay I think about a month ago on YT? Think it’s Gamecocks online YT channel…after watching that, yeah Lay ain’t transferring 😏 Interview almost brought a tear to my eyes 🥹

I saw it... I think she stays as well. This is her only chance to play at home. Theres no professional WBB teams in South Carolina. Plus, her gf is at the school. And her best friend (Ashlyn Watkins). And she is playing against the best of the best everyday in practice & playing with the best of the best every game. No other teams practice or game will feel like this.

Wiley wasn't the only one shooting quick and not talking time off the clock. Paopao and tessa were also. Tessa kept turning the ball over. Let's not get on the wiley case too much. They couldn't stop anybody in half court defense down the stretch.

This is a video strictly about Milaysia & all the people who say she needs to transfer. Video proof of why Dawn coaches her the way she does. Make your own video about what you want & let me do mine how i want. Thanks!

@womenbeballing the sensitivity is on 100 these days. Is this how you treat your subscribers who comment? You said aliyah boston is not caitlin clark mammy. Maybe dawn is not fulwiley's mammy. Can you take that joke ? Wish you weren't so sensitive about nothing.

*@rarerock5020* You are correct, my friend. They were all jacking up ill advised shots. It was physical and mental fatigue. This was the first time I've ever seen SC look worn down. UT played just as many bench players as they did just not enough McDonald's All Americans, my friend. †

I didn't see where they blew a 22 point lead, only where the 22 point lead was cut to 6, my friend. "Blowing a lead" actually means when a team that is ahead in a game loses the lead or gives up the lead. A better statement would be, they almost blew a 22 point lead. Blessings, my friend. †

Why is Lay tired. She is young and only plays around fifteen to twenty minutes a game. Clearly the players are not being trained hard enough to help with their conditioning.
