Although some will disagree with the safety hatches I couldn’t agree more with you and the arguments against them are from people who are obviously incompetent enough to leave them open when they should be closed. Never the less, I personally have a problem with being trapped with no way out but dying. And that can’t be an option if you want to stay alive. There's a French engineer designer that built a Al Scow bowed explorer Yatch that Odd life sailing visited that had view panels built in to keep an eye on the 2x E propulsion motors and shaft seals in a mid ships position. He had his diesel generators remotely mounted to keep noise and other hazards out of the accomodation section.

Just a thought: maybe you should get a ridged power vang to eliminate the need for a topping lift and prevent the possibility of hardtop contact, as well as give you more sail shape control. I am adding one on my Landfall that was salvaged from a vessel that went into a big dumpster.

Wow! You have really thought this through thoroughly! Can't believe there were no escape hatches. I'm sure they are a controversial point, but for me the one negative of a multi hull is they are not self righting. So if it does flip, do you want to get out on the dry side or the wet side. One for each cabin is even better for fire etc, as you said. Really great video, thank you.

Another KZbinr, wife and husband WeSail . It's a catamaran but they've included a 900 W solar panel as part of the main sail where the zipper is. Regarding your insulation 50 mil stagnant air is equivalent to 50 mil insulation if you do your calculations . Also, it works as a vapour barrier which in aluminium skin is a major concern. I wondered why you didn't remove all the items carefully and give them to the locals . I met with dallos in Queensland and he seems to be having fun putting all the things into his cat. The most boatbuilders don't go to the detail. He showed interest in those parasail 3000 square-foot is here in Sydney if you want me to send it up for you to try Regards, Peter Baker I also have a 24 V Milwaukee right angle Drive which handle as my wife does all my winch work

Well done of course. Beautiful boat so far. I didn't quite catch the reasoning for a third diesel engine though. I get it is to be used as a backup generator but why couldn't you use the existing diesels for that purpose given it is just as a backup system? Apologies.

I know that your aware, but i will put thus out anyway, please be careful with the escape hatches, thay have sunk more catamarans than have flipped or caught fire... I and quite a few others have taken them out of our cats for safety reasons... Love your videos and your new boat... coming from someone whose on his 14th boat 4th multihull and the love of my life being 27 years younger for over 12 years together... Rock on both of you!!!

Can you explain how those tank lids are secured, I have never seen that cross bar with center "nut" design ! It looks very simple compared to those lids with 20 bolts around the perimeter !

been watching a few of these aluminum cat builds. being from michigan and seeing what road salt does to an aluminum snowmobile trailer i have been very curious about how these hold up over the years, stress fractures, corrosion around where the weld and plate meet. i know over the years an aluminum pontoon boat will stress crack all over near the welds. but im thinking you are dealing with a lot thicker plate than is on a pontoon boat built for a lake. any way just curious about how the welds and plate around them faired thru the years. Great Stuff keep'em comming!!!

That gooseneck looks very low, putting the boom in an odd angle. that improves a bit when you lower the bimini roof, but I would still consider to take the gooseneck up and have the sail top ammended. Square top sails work better anyway. and a horizontal sail foot probably has a better shape, depending on how it originally was cut. Add a hydrailic boom spring to be more safe, then yuo can remove the boom lift line. That high bridge in the salon looks like an irritating object to me.

Hello !!! The wind generator is a D400 model from UK. It is the only real unit that performs as stated, is very quiet, and comes with a controller that directs the voltage/current to a set of resistors once batteries are fully charged.
