Patch Notes since release of this guide: 7.1 Patch Notes: Aurora heals for more. Superbolide now only reduces you to HALF of MAX HP instead of 1 HP. Furthermore, if used while already below 50%, it just gives you invulnerability for free. Heart of Light now also reduces physical damage, so it can be used against any raidwide! Hypervelocity does slightly LESS damage. Double Down now only costs ONE Cartridge instead of two. This means that you only really NEED 2 cartridges to do a decent No Mercy Window, however, on the odd minute, the third cartridge of course enables you to use Burst Strike. On the even minute burst, you need to have enough skill speed to fit 9 GCDs inside the burst for this patch to change anything major for the burst itself. However if you CAN fit 9 GCDs, Burst Strike on the ninth GCD is probably a good idea!

If you've played a melee DPS class, it basically plays a lot like an easier melee dps that require you do think about defence and aggro

Love this job. It took me through sb and shb. I played smn through ew because i enjoy that too, but i always come back to gnb, it's just so much fun to play and optimise ❤❤❤

6:20 The advice is correct, but I want to make a slight correction to the math on mits - while the damage reduction has multiplicative returns (diminishing), the effect on your effective health (including heals/shields) is actually exponential (increasing, but only just barely). The reason to not stack is because that bonus simply isn't worth taking unmitigated damage for - but it *is* genuinely useful to pair Heart of Corundum, Camouflage, or Reprisal with the bigger buttons, as long as you have enough mits to cover the entire pull!
@siosilvarАй бұрын
I provide as proof: assume (for simplicity) that a tank only has two 20% mits that last for 10 seconds - use a single 20% mit (80% damage taken): every point of health is worth 1.25 unmitigated damage - use two 20% mits (64% damage taken): every point of health is worth 1.5625 unmitigated damage - *better* than chaining them, for large bursts of damage however, in the context of an actual pull... if a 20 second pull deals 100 DPS, you'd have: - chain the two 20% mits: take 800 + 800 = 1600 damage taken - *better* than stacking them, for long durations of damage - stack the two 20% mits: take 640 + 1000 = 1640 damage taken

I actually explain that whole thing about effective hp in my diminishing returns guide, and the key here is that effective hp typically only matters in a very tight set of circumstances. In the rest, there are other factors. For instance, taking 80 dps for 20 seconds is a lot easier to handle for a healer (in the hypothetical scenario), than taking 64 dps for 10 seconds, and then 100 dps for 10 seconds. In a dungeon pull context, the most important part is damage smoothing, and indeed, if you don't NEED 45 seconds of cooldowns to cycle, overlapping them for 20 seconds of more concentrated reduction is always better. This is also why I call the "1 defensive at a time" a rule of thumb. I'm pretty sure I also mention overlapping more defensives might be a good idea later in the guide when you have more options (heart of corundum!) The key is that I'd rather decisively teach a sprout to cycle one defensive at a time, than make it too complicated and then they stack all the defensives instead! 😂

One thing you forgot to mention: the upgrade to rampart at level 94 gives it a buff to healing received. That buff snapshot so using aurora and heart of corundum during the duration of rempart is super beneficial since both heals will be increased
@siosilvarАй бұрын
Yep. It's actually a good idea to pair short cooldowns with long cooldowns before then, as long as you don't run out of mits and take unmitigated damage, but this makes it an even better idea.

That is true! 😊

I really love gunbreaker but its too hard for me to play, i cant focus on doing the rotation correctly and hitting my mitigation at the same time so i end up either not mitigating properly or failing the rotation

i don't understand how to deal with the cartridges after the first two minute burst, it's ok to overcap so i can get the lion heart combo or not?
@ursulcx299Ай бұрын
So the idea is that every time you are about to overcap, use one sonic break, then do your 1-2-3 to get that new cartridge. if you are about to overcap during the burst it doesnt matter because your priority is gnashing fang and double down which will empty the cartridge. Hope that helps!
@siosilvarАй бұрын
Don't overcap, just spend extras on Burst Strike if you don't have anything else that uses them. Ideally that's a 1-2-Burst Strike-3 during filler. With the correct skill speed (2.40/2.46/2.50) this also means you'll always end up with either full charges right as No Mercy starts or with 2 charges and Solid Barrel ready, so the burst windows have everything they need in them - the order might change a bit, but as long as it all fits inside No Mercy it doesn't really matter.
@CaetsuChaijiChАй бұрын
Understandable! It is one of the most confusing parts! The short answer is no don't overcap. The difficult part is "fixing that" In the two minute burst you can "fix it" by spending the two remaining cartridges on double down so blood fest can be used fully, and then you can do gnashing fang as normal. On the odd minute burst, you have a few spare gcds, so you can usually get that third cartridge again from solid barrel early in the no mercy! Others also gave good suggestions 😊
