Nepal was going to buy superior arms with fair price offered by China than the inferior one with higher price from India to fight against Maoist. India would have had advantages against China, making Nepal their battlefield filled with RAW agents, among other strategic benefits, without the presence of a monarchy system. Given this backstory, it's hard to believe that India had no interest in removing the monarchy and implementing the well-planned massacre.

The then King Birendra of Nepal was exploring other options rather than India as India has always been a bully, trying to interfere in every internal matter of Nepal. During King Birendra's reign, India started economic blockade against Nepal as a result King Birendra requested China to help and Nepal started importing essential things from China. Then the King realized that India can't be fully trusted and Nepal must have other options as well. Seeing Nepalese King getting close to China, India planned to kill King Birendra and his family. In this conspiracy, USA also joined forces as at that time Nepal was the only Hindu Kingdom and USA and The West has always try to convert people and turn them into Christian by weakening and destroying other's religion and it was not possible for the west to spread Christianity in Nepal in the presence of a Hindu King. And USA also wanted to built an army base camp in the region of Nepal which was close to Tibet so that they can train Tibetan refugees in Nepalese land to destabilize Tibet region and China as whole. In easy understanding, USA wanted to make Nepal a second Kashmir where terrorists are bred to destabilize certain region. King Birendra was strictly against this nonsense and King immediately ordered to dissolve the camp. By that incident, USA was not so happy with King Birendra. And at that time and still till date, USA hates China. So Nepal's close relation with China was kind of pain to the eyes of USA as well as of India. And these are very few reasons behind the Narayanhiti Royal Massacre. Who helped CIA and RAW? It was Nepal's Royal Army and the then Army Chief. Without army's help, such massacre inside the palace couldn't have taken place.

Well known facts which are in public domain are :- 1. Crown Prince dipendra was the perpetrator as after massacre he shoot himself. Any investigation agency will try to find the motives behind the killing and no foreign hand can ever be proven in such case. He had personal reasons for it. 2. Dipendra wanted to marry Devyani Rana, whom he had met in the United Kingdom. Some allege that, due to her mother's family being from lower-class royals of India and her father's political alliances, the royal family objected. In fact, Devyani's Gwalior family were one of the wealthiest former royal families of India, and allegedly far wealthier than the Nepalese monarchs. The prospective bride's mother warned her daughter that marrying the Nepalese crown prince might mean a drop in her standard of living. 3. Another theory states that there was a higher possibility of Indian influence if Dipendra would be married to Devyani, to which the palace objected. Other theories allege that Dipendra was unhappy with the country's shift from an absolute to a constitutional monarchy, and that too much power had been given away following the 1990 People's Movement. 4. There is a book titled "Raktakunda" based on interviews of two palace maids which details these theories. Promoters of these ideas alleged Gyanendra had a hand in the massacre so that he could assume the throne himself. His ascent to the throne would have been possible only if both of his nephews, Dipendra and Nirajan, were removed from the line of succession. Moreover, Gyanendra and his son Prince Paras were very unpopular. One of the eyewitness of the royal massacre, Lal Bahadur Magar, claims that Paras is the main man behind the whole massacre. Magar was one of the bodyguards of Crown Prince Dipendra at that time.

Nepal is not hindu country, but the fact is the shah kings follows Hinduism. Major tribes of Nepal are non hindu. And Hinduism was migrated from india during the period of shankharacharya. Before that buddhism was famour all over asia, also a lot of archeological evidences of buddhism are still preserved in nepal.
