I never hold back tears, I do some at first lol, but nah I'll let it out, and never have I had a anyone think I'm weak or whatever, but I'm not an average male and there's no question lol, plus usually I get angry when I start crying or whatever, growl and crap lol, for as far as females it'll usually break them... especially when they know I'd hunt someone down for them or whatever being their protector, same as guys....I hold everything on my shoulders for anyone close to me...same for animals lol which I'm guessing why I'm so good with animals, especially dogs, even if not mine, or little kids the parents aren't the best of taking care of

First and foremost thank you for your service. Thank you for such a great reaction. I'm subbing. As a single mother with 3 kids I had to learn how to be a man and it was super hard to try and keep up. My boys needed things it was difficult to provide. From working 2 jobs to provide, sports, fixing vehicles, household repairs/ remodeling, protecting my daughter, and much much more. With my father a veteran also and brother over 1500 miles away through it all. Luckily, I was able to have them during the summer to take over the role. I feel you. I too have been depressed (...) Most my single life. There is too much weight and society's expectation. BIG hands up to all men who can carry the weight. Don't let self-care slide. You can't do the job without it. ❤

I'm not sure what was harder to hear the song or that you didn't think you were worth enough. I may not know you personally but you are a human being no person should ever believe they are worthless. Older Army Vet here and when I first heard this song I didn't realize how close to the surface this is.I wanted all women to hear it and listen and understand. Life is hard when you carry the weight as expected every single day. My mother said to support your wife's feelings and dreams above my own. Tell her only what she needs to know is what my father told me. Sometimes it hard being on that wall but I do it proudly. Sometimes its hard when the hard times come which are more often than not it seems. The Army taught us to complete the mission so my family has always been mine. Keep Strong Brother you got it!

Hey brother, My whole family are Veterans. My 70yr old mother was a Marine, My father was a Green Beret Vet in Vietnam rescuing POW's. (literally Rambo), Brother an AirBorne Army Ranger, and I myself was in for a short time. My father with PTSD and Alcohol held a gun to my mothers head while she was pregnant with me and she left him. I never met the man before he passed in 2016 and the 2 step fathers I had were not educated and didn't teach us anything meaningful. I've gone through a ton of junk in my life but I have an amazing mind (I think?!) If you or anyone else need to vent or whatever pls don't hesitate.

As a White male in my 60's who also served this country and experienced my fathers death from his own hand and my mothers death by the same means 5 months later. That was 42 years ago. Hearing you say you had thought at one time of self harm brought tears to my eyes. Every day I wake up, I thank the lord and know that I have unfinished work here on earth. I have only been listening to DAX for about 5 months now too... But I can relate to EVERY single word 100% - just crazy. Love your reaction - I can relate to it in more than 1 way. I respect you on this one and glad I found it today. PROPS and TYFYS And on a side note - the 2 women in this mix HEALD it down. Their presentation of empathy and respect were very well sung. This is the reaction I was looking for, I've watched about two dozen and this is the one... I was waiting for to see a man feel the same way I do listening to this. My Girlfriend actually sent this to me while I was feeling down, had never heard it but i balled my eyes out listening to it as she comforted me... Life ain't easy, I've felt like parts of this song many times in my life but I keep going eventually it will get better.

As a 2 time combat veteran, it was always taught to me that if you cry you are weak. It is only now 14 years after my last combat tour that I am learning it is ok to talk about and cry about our feelings and the things that happen, then this track drops and Dax amazes me again this track hits the nail on the head Dax has become an extremely motivational artist for myself. # Suicide is a permanent end to a temporary problem, coming from a man who has attempted and failed as well as had several battle buddies see it as the better route out. As a man who has taught the 12 steps twice and won but yet I failed because I always spiral back to alcohol although I am highly functioning it is my go too alcohol will get me through anything
