I read that that ceremony was common at that time as there was no documentation of a contract. It was held between two people as an oath that whomever breaks the oath will be slain like the animals. Usually the Kings would send their servants to walk through but God went through for him showing He knew that we would not be able to keep our part of the Law and Jesus would come to be slain to fulfill it. Heartbreakingly beautiful. God is so good.

I've been busy accomplishing my life goals and was working very hard until age 34. Then I learned that I have endo stage 4 and had surgery to remove cysts and endometriosis. I've started my fertility journey, failed first cycle of IVF and couldn't start IVF this month due to elevated FSH. Life is ironic and unpredictable but I have learned to obey God and try to be more close to him through this unexpected experience. Each month, there is a new challenge and obstacle to overcome but this is great opportunity to be disciplined and to be close to our Lord.

I know this isn't today's reading but in Job chapter 42 I saw something for the first time ❤where God's Wrath is kindled against Job's friends and He says that he will accept Jobs prayer so that he would not do to them according to their Folly. I thought that's a picture of Jesus with us! Because of Jesus we are not under the Judgment of sin!!! We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ! I have already gleaned so much from this study so far this year... and it's just the tip of the iceberg.
