I served with Lt Smith. Nicest guy ever. I was on staff duty with him and I was taking out the trash from the battalion building and went to his office to grab his and he told me it’s okay I got it and actually went to the other offices and helped me grabbed the trash bags. I laughed WAY too long at Tia in the beginning being so aggressive about Spanish. And yeah Chandler really was the hero of this episode for me. An attitude like that is contagious. I wonder if having only 10 total athletes makes tensions higher competitively? Like more personal feeling? Everyone seems a lot more tense to me than previous years.

I believe the tension is higher because every position matters more. Getting 5th in an event last year was a really good finish and would keep you towards the top of the pack and in a good spot to podium. Getting 5th now is dead last. Every spot carries a lot more weight than before.
