What a wonderful family canoe trip. Thanks for bringing us along. I was on Oyster just about that time - August 31 - Sept 3, then paddled out LIS North. If you saw a guy with a red canoe and black dog that was me. I love the "what was the best thing" game.

Yes, we were there at the same time. Got onto the Oyster Lake Campsite the Friday of Labor Day weekend if you remember the day with the rain. We left Oyster Sunday morning. Saturday we quit counting canoes going by at 25 boats which we saw already before lunch. After that many it's hard to recall if anyone had a dog. But it was my favorite lake of the trip! We were near the portage that goes to the Oyster River, the campsite with the big downed tree across the front.

@@MamasBasecamp Thats so funny that I watched all 10 parts and on the last one realized we might have crossed paths, almost. I got to Oyster on Friday too, but came down from Ga-Be and took the site in that bay on the west side. Fished the main lake but never went over to the east side. I also saw lots of boats come around the corner to see if my site was empty. Sunday I packed my tent then it started to rain, so I waited then put it back up and stayed until Monday. Portaged over to Hustler and out LISN that day. Shot only a little video; but sadly not enough to organize into decent story unfortunately.

@@jwamn0002 I remember that rain Sunday paddling out! Thunder started to rumble when we got to Agnes and luckily it never got bad enough to make us hunker down. What EP did you go in from?

@@MamasBasecamp I entered at LISN. Went up Loon, Slim, secret portage to Fat, Finger, Pocket and then down to Oyster and out Shell. 9 days. After 2 strong storms that week, and having been pounded on a trip in June, when I heard the thunder I decided not to paddle.

How true, but modern life does seem to get in the way.

Very nice wrap up. Really enjoyed the fog time lapse. Too bad you didn't take the Oyster River all the way down to the Moose... could have bypassed that long, muddy portage. Although, in exchange, you probably would have had to pull over a couple of beaver dams... I'll take the beaver dams over that portage any day.

Nibimocs, we had that woulda, shoulda, coulda discussion about staying on Oyster ourselves. Thanks for watching! Time to study the maps and look for a less busy future spot.

Always a shame when you have to pack up but it helps if the weather is turning a bit for the worse. Wow, I wish I got money for miles, I would be rich lol and a pizza and a pain free evening sounds good to me, as well as a hot shower. Good memories to look back on, cheers Alan

Alan Metalman, the last day I always wish we had more time. But by then Ams has had enough, she wants her friends and her electronics LOL. I am glad from the outdoor adventures she can learn to appreciate hot showers, food, and a warm home to weather the storm. Thank you so much for watching!
