I must have had a sixth sense about flattened tubes from paper towels etc..... as I have been sorting out my storage a bit more...... and I found my little container of them that I have had sitting there for ages. I had decided that I should try to work out a project to use some of them.... and voila... you do a video on them. Woooohoooo..... !!! I do love your idea. And it definitely is a very simple one to do!! I am watching all the videos for this collaboration first... then I am going to decide what I will make to go into my journal. In the meantime I am doing some tidying, re-organising and culling of old ephemera (most of it is over 20 years old ... at least)!! And a few masterboards/collaged sheets have been done from scraps as I go as well. It is certainly freeing up some much needed space and I am able to put those things I use the most front and centre!!! So enjoying yours and Rach's collaboration.... and the style is right up my alley!!! 🥰💞♥

Nothing wrong with saving the toilet roll cores, Chris. I always get so much grief for a few people when I use the toilet paper cores. Crazy really. Nothing wrong with using them. A little antiseptic spray and a press with an iron and you’re good to go! They make great homemade crackers for Christmas don’t they? Hugs 🌸🌷🤗💗

This is sweet! Our paper towel cores here in the States when flattened are only 2 1/2 inches, smaller than yours, which look to be about 3 inches flattened. I’ve decided to slit it open and make it 3 1/2 inches, and use the extra 1/4 inch on each side as a gusset (similar to your triangular pockets). That should work just fine, since most of it will only be 1 thickness, and not add too much bulk. Looking forward to making this one. Thanks so much for sharing this idea! Be well!🩷

I had saved up several (actually MANY) and tried to follow along. I was so disappointed! Of course at the time I hadn’t had the “brilliant” idea to slit them open🥴. So instead of being creative with them, I tossed them into the paper recycling bin. Now I know better and have options!
