I am 72, spent many yrs rafting rivers, had my babies (twins) at 40 and I do not know why people are always pushing "relationships" on a single woman. I had a wonderful life before the little boys came along. Now my big boys are my 'rocks' and I am lucky that we are very close friends but I am sure glad that I didn't wait around to do the things I always wanted to just to have a man and babies in my life. I even dragged my teenaged boys off to the Middle East to make money and we did a lot of world travel. There are SO many ways to live a good life. I am really enjoying your hike 🙂

So I get the same thing being 44 and single. When I did the PCT I did so because I had the freedom to. No wife or children to prioritize so I try to enjoy life as a single guy. That’s what I like about you is that you aren’t afraid to go do what you enjoy and take advantage of the opportunity your life situation affords you. I talk about this concept at length in my own PCT documentary. Ecclesiastes 5:19 says to enjoy your work and accept your lot in life, this indeed is a gift from God. I love to enjoy life where I am rather than seeing the grass as greener on the other side of the mountain. Don’t let the comments get you down, you are rocking this thing!!

We just did trail magic last week at the bridge where you stayed. Looking at this video and the fact you can see the three peaks and the clear sky I’m hopeful you made it to Goat Rocks before the closure. Everybody loves Goat Rocks Wilderness but I love the north cascades. I hope you get to see both and Rainier in all her glory.

I started the AT with a woman. When she got off trail I hiked with a woman and a man. When they got behind me, I hiked alone and then with two men. All good friends still. I am happily married to a non-hiker. Trail life is so different and hard for others to understand. People become family, the guys I hiked with are brothers. The women are sisters. With such a big goal and working all day every day to exhaustion, a relationship isn’t high on most thru hikers lists. Just keeping up with brushing your hair and teeth can be too much. 😂

I’ve been married now 30 years and working on 31. I love backpacking and enjoy a lot of through hiking channels. But what I enjoy about yours is your commentary. I realize that not everything portrayed on a channel matches reality, but a guy would be very blessed to catch your eye as you are great company. At the end of the day, this matters most in relationships.

Lol I was laughing about your commentary regarding the love comments. I think it is because some people like to fantasize and "ship" people together because the love and romance is entertaining for them and they like to imagine you with one of them haha. I am sure it is all well intended though. Some people also believe that two people of the opposite sex can't just be friends without having some sort of romantic feelings for each other. I feel that a male and female can have a platonic friendship together. Girl, keep on hiking and doing your thing in whatever makes you happy! 😊

I also want to add that I never would have thought you were 40! You hide your years extremely well. For the relationships, I think people are projecting what would make them happy onto you, and they want you to be happy. I would have to say I thought Sonic was enamored with you--he seemed happy to be around you, there was gentle teasing about your passport and the German WhatsApp group. It reminded me of the JupterHikes video where he met his girlfriend--he would gush over how he enjoyed her company then lamented he had to leave her because he had to stick to his schedule.

Sonic is so funny, will miss his antics in the background of your videos. How tall is he? Just curious, there was a group picture in your previous video where he is down in front, and he looks so much taller than anyone around. I would love to be on the PCT in one go but have been doing it in sections cuz of work and family obligations. I just got back from hiking in the Sierras and have a backpacking trip planned in the Sierras again in a couple wks, this time at South Fork, North Fork of Big Pine Creek to Palisades glaciers, looking forward to it. My daughter saw me watching your video after we got home and said, "Haven't you had enough of nature yet?" I said, "No." Glad your knee is feeling better!

Hey. Trail romances rarely work long term. If your incentive to do long hikes is to ‘find a mate’… stay home. It’s fun to hike with different people, for a while, but daily goals differ. If I come across a vista that moves me, I’ll stop and enjoy the moment… miles be damned. This is the reason I took 9 months to thru hike the AT-Roadrunner passed me twice. PCT-Roadrunner passed me in Idyllwild too…. 😊 Vitamin I, icy-hot, slow down & less hours for a few days, rest that knee. JK

Anyway, yes, people are projecting a romance because it's missing in their life, they view this adventure as a soap opera. Hey, romance happens or it doesn't, but it's not something to force or chase, either of those actions end in disaster 😂 I told you the first two or three days in Washington would be a green tunnel, I guess you didn't believe me, but it certainly looks similar to your AT videos. Hi Dancer! I was up there in the Giff between Indian Heaven and Adam’s Wilderness on Thursday, the 8th. They had closed the PCT through the Mt. Adam’s Wilderness due to the Wiliams Mine fire. It looks like you will either just make it through there, or you will hit it. I’ll have to wait a few days to see. Good Luck!

Mt St. Helen Mt Rainer Mt. Adam's from left to right. The trail days in cascade locks is coming up. That's where the crowd will be. I'm on the coast right now so I'll miss that. Laughing at your comments about subscribers playing Matchmaker. Kind of losing track of the bubble other than comments about the store in Seiad getting a swell come through about a week or so ago and what some SOBOs comment in passing NOBOs.
