Good job going through The Notch. I did it with full pack about 15 years ago along with climbing Old Speck. Just a short camping trip to the shelter, not the entire AT!

I was very concerned about you going through the notch by yourself. Glad you made it though. I think that some of the blazes are still under snow. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick

Thanks Rick. I took it VERY slow.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and hike. The bog injuring your rib worried me about you handling your climbs and having to manage getting your pack through, but you seemed to manage it well thankfully.

I think that bird call is the white throated sparrow. It’s one of my favourite bird calls too!

Loved your perspective on the Notch. The snow made it a bit tougher, looks like. Geological background, as always, was informative and interesting. Never made the connection between those huge jumbled boulders and the absence of continuous water to soften them. Kind of a time-stop thing, it seems. Your Euro soccer fan is a White-Throated Sparrow, btw.

With all that snow in the Notch it looks like most of the "Fun" stuff was covered over and planerized!

I did do some crawling.

Really interesting with that much snow left over!

A solid mile of mixed climbing bouldering problems. . . with your pack. You are the Man! As a retired mountaineer I can tell you that that rotting snow is the most dangerous stuff on the mountain. How did you rate the climb? Hey, at 0:39 is one of those mountain top bogs where you may find those carnivorous plants. Good thing one didn't grab you when you fell in.

I thought there were a lot harder places on the trail than the Notch. Like the hike the day before the notch and the hike out of the notch up the Arm. And the hike down Madison. The climb out of Palmerton. I wasn’t a fan of the cliff climbing on the AT.
