all of the musicians, and the singer, are virtuosos in their own field. Most were well known performers or teachers before joining together to create this band. The singer is also a concert pianist, and recently married the koto player (the horizontal harp)

You need to check out more Wagakki Band. They are on another level. All of them are elite musicians. I recommend these songs: Howling, Moon Shine, Sun Wheel, Queen Of The Night, Shiromadara, and Reload Dead.

Oumura Shin, aka Machiya was born in 1982. He is the guitarist for the Wagakki Band and guitarist and vocalist of m:a.ture and PARAPLU. He is also a singer and metal screamer. Machiya is also the guitarist and vocalist of m:a.ture, a tremendously popular band in the Indie music scene. In addition, Machiya participates in performances and tours with a diverse range of artists.

Machiya is a fantastic musician. He's obviously very proficient, but I particularly like the sound of his guitar and the way he plays. I've heard he is the one mixing their sound and I know he writes many of their songs. Wagakki Band is my all-time favorite band! ​@@mikesmusicalrehab I forgot to mention that he's a good singer too. I like his soft voice and how he harmonizes perfectly with Yuko (the main singer). There are a couple of songs where he sings lead and some songs where he has his own parts.

@@ericifune5543 I saw them at Line Cube Shibuya about 2 weeks earlier. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. I'm happy I got to see them in my lifetime. A unique and awe inspiring moment, they were/are a musical treasure.

My top 5 japanese guitarrists are: 1. Syu from Galneryus 2. Takayoshi Ohmura (ex-Babymetal, ex-Liv Moon, etc. has solo songs too) 3. Shiren (Unlucky Morpheus, ex-Yousei Teikoku) 4. Kelly Simonz (Solo, has Yngwie Malmsteen vibes) 5. Akira Takasaki (Loudness) And for the women: Miyako and Midori (Lovebites) Saki (ex-Mary's Blood, ex-Nemophila, Amahiru, solo) Lisa-X (solo, KOIAI) Hazuki (Nemophila, KOIAI) Yuki (D_Drive, East of Eden) But many many other are just as good, japan has too many good musicians

Great reaction. :) I would like to recommend two japanese bands. First is symphonic speed metal band 摩天楼オペラ (Matenrou Opera) and their song "舌" (Shita), this one is kinda swingy. And second is symphonic metal band Liv Moon and song "You Live In Me", very beautiful song, I would say more like a ballad. I hope you will react to these two amazing bands. :)

Machiya is a virtuoso guitarist, although Wagakki Band is very popular, he does not have the same recognition as people like Akira Takasaki, SYU, Takayoshi Ohmura, Kelly Simonz or Daita Itou.
