David knows that God knows that we are “a breath of air with days like a passing shadow” (Ps 144:4). He can only know this because he’s grieved the loss of loved ones. His response is to “lift his hands in prayer and thirst for God as parched land thirsts for rain” (Ps 143:6). And he must have God’s relief from grief and distress: “Come quickly,Lord; my depression deepens. Don’t turn away from me or I will die.” Isn’t that the way deep grief feels? If we don’t have God’s nearness, it feels that there’s no way to go on living. But for our God, “the night shines as bright as the day. Darkness and light are the same to you” (Ps 139:12). That is because Jesus is light (Jn 1:5), and He infuses our loved ones with Himself when He welcomes them Home. And He brings that very light, Himself, into us, turning our dark grief into the Light.

Im struggling and this comes at just the right moment. Fully known and fully loved. WOW!!! What a concept!!! In a world that tells me I’m not enough, then tells me I must be everything to all persons and in which navigating those extremes is just baffling … God reigns supreme and His messaging is clear. I can rest in Him, knowing His plan will reign and that I don’t have to carry all the burden of having all the answers. Man! Our God is AWESOME!!!!

The ways of the Lord always ensure that everything works together to fulfill His purpose for my life. He is so kind! “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.” Psalm 138:8 Psalm 139 shows over and again how close God is to me. His love and care for me is intentional. Oh the heart of our Lord who loves the undeserving so deeply.

How beautiful is God’s blessing and desire for us: “May our sons flourish in their youth like well-nurtured plants. May our daughters be like graceful pillars, carved to beautify a palace. May our barns be filled with crops of every kind. May the flocks in our fields multiply by the thousands, even tens of thousands, and may our oxen be loaded down with produce. May there be no enemy breaking through our walls, no going into captivity, no cries of alarm in our town squares. Yes, joyful are those who live like this! Joyful indeed are those whose God is the Lord.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭144‬:‭12‬-‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Oh, how I love Psalm 139:1-18. God, our creator, knows us so intimately. He is with us, and there is no where we can go that he is not. "The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made." (Ps 145:9) "What are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you think of them?" (Ps 144:3)

Today's psalms remind me that God is faithful at all times and that His steadfast love endures forever. He is powerful, all-knowing, and our creator. Because He knows and sees everything, I can go to Him about any and everything. Psalm 139: 13-14 and 23-24 are verses that I have committed to memory. God formed my inward parts. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. He searches me and knows me. Amen. Praise Yahweh, our Lord. And, thank you, Tara-Leigh, for reading Psalm 138: 8. Reading each time, putting emphasis on a different word each time, really shows just how rich this scripture is. God's promises for me are always good. Amen.

I have all of Psalm 139 memorized thanks to all three of my children having to memorize it in 2nd grade at their Christian school growing up. It is quite a dramatic psalm and the drama teacher at their school taught them how to recite with much emotion. Try reading it out loud as if you are David out in the fields with his sheep or all alone in a cave. My favorite part is "if only you would slay the wicked, O God. Away from me you blood-thirsty men, they speak of You with evil intent, Your adversaries misuse Your name. Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord, and abhor those who rise against You? I have NOTHING but hatred for them, I count them my enemies." I can just see those little 7 year olds in front of chapel saying that part with strong emphasis. Then he ends the chapter with the "search me, O God and know my heart......" He comes full circle and shows that we can also have strong hatred for what is evil, but we must ask God to search our hearts so that there might not be any "offensive way in me."

My God shot was also Psalm 138:8! I had to write it down to remind myself. It gives me peace knowing he will fulfill his purpose for me, but not just me but also my kids. Especially when I have a tendency to worry about them. I will remember that he will fulfill his purpose for them. I don't have to worry because he has them in the palm of his hands. The safest place for them. It brings my heart peace and joy. He is where the joy is!!

Just beautiful Psalms this morning! Ps. 131 - A Childlike Spirit - it touched me so deeply. It's hidden in there. Short and sweet. It's where God has brought me. It's only 3 verses on meekness, basically, and yet it's so powerful! Thank you, Abba Father. Thank you. And Ps. 138:8 The Lord WILL fulfill His purpose for me. Brings me back to the word spoken over me and into me several years ago now, "What is for me will not pass me." Praising Him this morning and always! He is so close!

About what you said with kindness. I also noticed that God has seen people in recent versus in this passage. A lot of young people today are wearing shirts that say be kind on them and talk about being 'seen. So there's a lot of opportunity to use these kinds of verses to minister to them.

I liked the quote from a Pastor that you shared. Then I also thought, & doesn't God also want that kind of love from us. It may start out more superficial, loving God, but not completely knowing. Then as we start reading more of His Word, listening to Him in prayer, etc, we start knowing His character more. To know Him & truly love Him, that's what He wants from us.

I'm struggling in this study with the content of the questions. I don't understand why some of the questions are being presented. I do understand that God is in the details. @@rhondacave938 there's several questions I don't understand. I'm just getting frustrated because I'm not sure I'm answering them right. I was in a group but I didn't feel like I was getting out of the study what I thought I should be getting, so I decided to do it on my own. I came in on the group on day 98. They said it was fine. I got some good things, and notes but I'm still confused. There are several questions I had trouble with, like on Day 102 the question was, "Review 1 Samuel 15:11 and 15:29. How is it possible that these two verses don't contradict each other?" And then it goes on to say look up the word "regret" in Hebrew lexicon, which I was confused about what that was pertaining to.
