Thanks a lot Abhishek, I am able to implement hosting a static website and making cloud front to talk to s3 by using OAI which will help to get the object from the bucket. Creating distribution is success i am able to see the static content of index.html with cloud front domain. A big thanks to Piyush for helping us to implement this at our end. Abhishek thanks once again for making concepts very clear.

Cloud front -> create distribution -> origin domain(s3 source from where data will be rendered) -> origin access identity legacy access identity. Create OAI. Bucket policy -> yes update bucket policy

Map the domain to cdn. People who is trying to access image, instead of accessing server directly, you access CDN. CdN creates local copies of data/images. Stores data along with central location, also stores data copies in the edge location.

Issue with direct s3 website hosting, latency, cost and security are major concern. It's not the best practice. Cloud front comes into picture. Data will be cached in nearest edge location. You don't have acess bucket, you can access from edge location, helps increase security since you don't access s3 bucket directly, you don't have to pay for upload and download cost since content is cached, lowest possible latency since data is hosted in nearest edge location

CdN helps you cache the content in the nearest edge location . Cloud front will cache data in edge location.

Hi Abhishek & Piyush, Bucket name should always be same as domain and once we configured everything you are accessing website through Distribution domain name, how do customer and user knows the distribution name?

I think you will have to map the distribution with the domain meaning you will create a record for distribution in route 53 if I understand well. It is just my opinion

Hello Abhishek, As in the last part piyush mentioned his wife forgot to delete the cloudfront . Can we able to setup the lambda function so it will check every day or weekly it will get triggered using cloud watch if it finds any cloudfront open it will delete it 😅.

Thank you for amazing video, i followed all instructions as usual and also i Enabled bucket policy too, but when i access Cloud front distribution i get this error, AccessDenied Access Denied ***** *****8/HostId> . Any idea why would get this ? Even for static website i tried disabling Block All public access it gave me same errror. I went ahead and gave IAM user permissions for Full S3 access and FullCloudFront access. Still failed.
