Homelessness is caused by rents being so overpriced that a single person now needs to make about 2,000 a week just to afford a bachelors apartment. Those of you who you who want to blame it on drugs are just ignorant and not nearly as smart as you think you are.

Good job documenting and shout out to the sanitation workers for keeping the streets clean! These folks, regardless of housing, are our fellow Americans and at a very dark place in their lives. It doesn't cost anything to show compassion for the less fortunate amongst us. That being said, I hope they're reaching out to the services designed to get them back up on their feet and vice-versa. Part of dehumanization is normalizing homelessness and poverty. In a nation as capable as our's, this must end. The sooner, the better off everyone will be. ☮️

The homeless I feel for, are the ones who work full-time, yet unable to get an apartment because rents are so high. They are high everywhere. I live 30 miles west of Boston and 1 bedroom is 1800 a month or higher.
@TruthSerum525 Жыл бұрын
I agree. The trouble is, the more you coddle the bums, it draws thousands more to get a free ride. Look at how many times they have cleaned up this same street. Free housing will only attract more bums. If these people truly WANT and need help, then they should be required to work. Any job…street cleaning, graffiti removal, park maintenance, ect.

Street homeless live very simple and modest life. These just wanted to enjoy beach as therapy for addiction. They don't need much, so they don't ask for much. It's minimalist type of life. They simply find a camping spot, and that becomes their new home. They prefer to be left alone as they are, and the only thing they really want is to be as close as possible to their fentanyl dealers. 99% of street homeless are fentanyl addicts. Large majority of them will simply die from fentanyl overdose, or drugs related violence. Very sad and heartbreaking.

Them homeless can really trash a area, cali is being nice, in my city they were woken by a welcoming committee, a front end loader and several rolloff dumpsters. They relocated to a area the loader couldn't get in but it's state land and a law was just passed making it illegal to camp on state land.
@Underledge Жыл бұрын
The city must have land it owns where the homeless can set up their camps/tents, etc. Camping - living on public walks and roadways should be forbidden. Let those that support this lifestyle provide services there.

Do they never pressure wash the sidewalk off? Or have a street sweeper clean the curb area? The workers are only supplied with rakes (cheap ones at that) and containers without wheels, but not any push brooms or dustpans so they can get all the paper trash and dirt? I'm just a regular person and I have better hand tools than what LA is giving the workers to clean with.
